  • RUMOR: First Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Teaser to Debut at ShowEast 2023

    Details to be shared during showcase on October 23. Apparently.

    Movie industry insiders have hinted that the first teasers for the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will take place at the ShowEast 2023 convention next week.

    A report from the website MaxBlizz claims that, "The first teaser for ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3‘ will premiere at ShowEast 2023 on October 23, 2023. During this event, the film’s title tagline will also be unveiled alongside the teaser. However, the online release date remains undisclosed."

    It is worth noting that MaxBlizz does not cite any sources for its claims, so please take this with a pinch of salt. However, a social media post from The Hollywood Handle has separately reported that a "first look at ‘SONIC: THE HEDGEHOG 3’ will be showcased" at the event.

    That account cites an apparent movie insider whose account has not posted in a very long time - so again, pinch of salt.

    The third Sonic the Hedgehog movie began shooting earlier this year, with on-location filming taking place in London over the summer and continuing last month. The sequel is slated for a release on 20 December 2024 - so there's plenty of time for Paramount to drip-feed us teasers in the meantime.

    I hope it shows Shadow and not this "hey guys im sonic sonic the hedgehog so bye" sort of thing. I want a decent teaser trailer, not some clip of sonic talking to himself.

    Isn’t  Ben Schwartz a SAG member? If so he’d still be on strike. So I don’t think you’d have to worry about that

    I'm hoping this is the case as well. In particular I've been going back and forth on whether they are likely to do an SA2 adaptation (in my dreams lol) or something completely original, and want some hints about which way they're going...or if it's a mix of the two.

    Seeing if Amy, Rouge or Maria are going to appear would be a huge plus as well.

    It looks like Sonic movie 3 is gonna get delayed to late 2025 now since the actors strike is gonna go on until January. Also the Knuckles series has been cancelled.

    This is just my assumptions as I've heard that if the SAG doesn't accept a deal by the end of next week, the AMTPP won't continue with negotiations until January of next year which will push back a lot of movies including Sonic movie 3. It's also very likely that the Knuckles series is getting cancelled since the studios said that they're gonna cancel a lot of TV shows if the strike goes on for much longer and the fact that we haven't heard anything about the Knuckles series.

    I figure the show's filming would be at least halfway close to finished before the strike went down, but no guarantees there. 

     

    As for 3, maybe the actor free five second teaser will be attached to the Game 'wards, as 2's trailer was.

    I thought they already filmed most of the Knuckles show already. It's only a matter of time of when they will show it.

    Yeah, it was a good thing this topic was labeled as a rumor. Maybe I should not have trusted the source, but yeah, this is not that surprising.

    Any word on a Jim Carrey comeback? A story of SA2 would be tough with no Eggman to kick it off, but I'm sure they'll figure something out (eg. a Doctor Stone takeover)

    Actually, I think they did show some stuff about the movie there. However, it wasn't shown publicly. Nobody is allowed to share or record anything about it. They were very strict on it. This is from the event website.:
