  • Everything's Shattering As Sonic Prime Season 3 Synopsis and Screens Surface

    A fresh batch of screenshots for the third season of Sonic Prime have been released, ahead of its January release. Netflix has also shared a new synopsis of the series' continuation, which picks things up after the events of Season 2.

    “With the power of the Paradox Prism under his control Nine turns the Shatterverse upside-down. However, the Prism power is as unstable as its wielder, and requires energy trapped inside of Sonic to stabilize. Extracting said energy, however, means that Sonic himself may shatter! As the final battle for the fate of the Shatterverse – and Green Hill – begins, Sonic will be forced to make the ultimate sacrifice to save his friends and enemies alike!”

    It certainly looks like things are heating up in the Shatterverse - especially the suggestion that Sonic himself may shatter! And will Nine realise the error of his ways in time for our heroes to stabilise the worlds around them?

    We won't have long to wait to find out, as Netflix recently announced a release date of 11 January 2024 for Sonic Prime Season 3 during a showcase event earlier this month. Let us know how excited or intrigued you are in the comments section below!

    Looks good. Be nice to see Nine as the main antagonist too, whivh hopefully he is. Fingers crossed we get to see prime Tails interact with him at somepoint to help in his redemption.

    That and more sonic and shadow tag teaming too lol!

    I've been really enjoying the show. Yes, it's a different personality for Sonic, but a welcomed one, imo. He's know to be silly at times and remembering this is aimed at younger audiences, it strikes a good balance. I'm also loving how Shadow is appearing in more than just a couple episodes since all other Sonic shows seem to have that pattern for him. Looking forward to season 3, January is not too far away!

    How would that happen? Nine himself is a piece of Tails so for Prime!Tails to come back Nine would have to cease to exist via merging with the rest of Shattered Tails as he wasn't truly a fully realized mobian to begin with.

    Well, that leads to the question of whether Sega is going to try for a full-blown Disney ending and somehow allow the Shatterspaces to exist alongside the 'real world,' and if that happens it'll probably be by way of Sonic's 'ultimate sacrifice,' which we all know isn't going to stick regardless because this is the main protagonist/series namesake for crying aloud; he's not gonna stay dead.

    I am curious to see how this series ends, though. Even if I'm not actually watching it (aside from the three episodes put on YouTube for free, which I very much enjoyed) because I refuse to pirate it and I'm certainly not throwing money at NetFlix after That Movie That Must Not Be Named. (Don't ask. Seriously, just don't. Google "what did NetFlix do" if you absolutely must know, but I don't want to give That Movie ANY more attention than absolutely necessary.)

    I'm not sure tbh. I imagine as Nine collects and assembles more pieces, more of the prime universe starts to reappear. Maybe Tails could appear with the stone 99% restored? I honestly dont know, but multiverse stories always have some backdoor reason to make things happen.

    Also, no Bosscage Eggman, or Pirate Eggman. Yet. Only New Yoke Eggmen. I wonder why??

    "Ultimate Sacrifice"? Color me intrigued, SEGA.

    Maybe, since I HIGHLY doubt they have the gall to go through with killing Sonic or pulling a "it never happened lol", then maybe this ultimate sacrifice could be that Sonic can bring back his home and keep the Shatterspaces, but the cost being that he himself has to shatter. So there are alternate Sonics, maybe? I don't know, I seriously doubt I'm going to predict the ending to this show, but I'm really interested in what happens next!

    This is where I'm thinking they are going to take this. It would explain the discrepancies between Prime and the mainline games and would explain how it could still be canon to everything else if the Prime universe was the 'original' one. Could ruffle some feathers for sure, but I personally wouldn't be mad if it was handled well and meant the aforementioned discrepancies made sense.

    What do you think shattering would do to him? I'm on the fence on whether Prime!Sonic is going to cease to exist/become ghost-like or whether him and Nine figure out a way to keep everybody existing. I also wonder how Shadow is going to factor into this, because we know in the current multiverse, there are plenty of alternate Shadows as well as Sonics/Tails/etc.

    You...you..maybe completely right. I was so focused with trying to make Prime work with the main canon and the quality was alright despite the characters being off, that I never considered Netflix to try something that disrespectful even though its Netflix.

    I mean, I did suspect that something of this sort might happen, but I'm not sure how well they'd make that work when they PROBABLY aren't going to reference every single Sonic spin-off universe on this show, or even most of them for that matter.

    I love Sonic prime. This show is WAY PAST COOL(unfunny joke)! I really like Shadow, Nine, and Rusty in that show! BUT, getting to the part about the updates, OH MY GAWD. I need it to be Jan 11, 2024 right now
