Heh, in all honesty? He might not delete it... he has this weird obsession with being the 'bigger man' or at least projecting an image as such, and since the chance it it being deleted was directly invoked, he'd look all the worse if it WAS wiped. And that said, I doubt he's even seen it. He was almost never around when I was there. It is no longer a sufficient enough hugbox for him to warrant his attention anymore.

I think he did see it. It probably takes a while for him to think of some BS for him to write to sound like the bigger man. I wish he directs that ethic toward writing his god damn comic. By the time his comic is finished, Half Life 3 will be out!

Oh-ho man, no kidding. If he dedicated nearly as much effort on his book as he does to making an ass of himself on Twitter, he might even have TWO books out.

Don't be silly. That gives the idea that more than 20 people will buy his book in order for him to make a sequel.

He just loves making an ass of himself. And digging holes.

Boy oh boy does he ever.

You know, there might be a point to be had about the fact that Archie and SEGA both screwed up during that trial. But then you go around and do as little as humanly possible to make Lara-Su unique, Mister 'Echyd'nya', and then you ignore the fact that your characters and concepts would never exist if not for the Sonic franchise. You didn't create an entire setting wholesale, you bluntly ignored what was available and coasted on a franchise that already had fans.

Also... anyone want to break it to him that Yuji Naka is not in fact 'the' creator of Sonic?

Done. Will post the comedic response.

He has a tenuous grasp on reality at best. And clearly has a fixation on the individual effort as opposed to the results of good team work. I doubt he could comprehend that the first Sonic games were a combined group effort with Naka, Naoto Ohshima and Hirokazu Yasuhara steering the major elements of the projects.

No, in Pendersopolis, Naka made everything with his own two programming magic hands (and probably stole all his post-1993 work from Penders, of course).

Which is funny since Pen has shown before that

I still find it funny he knows who Naka is at all, when he couldn't be bothered to look up that much when he was actually working on the comic.

Question, are Naka, Ohshima, and Yasuhara even seeing royalties from Sonic? I wouldn't think the video game business would really work like that, especially not with how scattered the Xeno series is... Manga, sure, that stuff is almost completely creator owned from what I understand. Then again, I shouldn't pretend like Penders knows what he's talking about.

Was that controller a TV remote?

Yes... yes it was. Which is hilarious since he said his kid played the games, you'd think he could just shoot the reference with him holding an actual controller.

Yes it was. Because at the time, no one in his family owned a Genesis. The console on which Sonic debuted in and Pen claimed to know like the back of his hand due to his eldest son's playing it, which is why Kanterovich helped him get hired by Archie to write for Sonic in the first place.

Otherwise, I have no idea why they used a remote instead of a real controller.

neither they or many other companies could even exist without those who create the product.

Is he really trying to claim that if it wasn't for him, Sega and Archie wouldn't exist because he wouldn't have wrote the comic?

I've heard some idiotic stuff but that beats them all.

If he really believes that, he definitely is downright crazy.

Nah. He's just trying to put forth the idea that he was much more crucial to Sonic's success and popularity than reality would indicate. He wants it to seem like he gave Sonic and co value (and Knuckles of course), when the reality was that the franchise was already popular. In short, his usual self-serving bullcrap.

Anybody want to point out that for all his supposed reverence of these people as creators, he didn't even try to write them into "Sonic Live!" and referred to them as random staff artists?

Thanks. Me or Fenders? I wonder why he used Pat Allee as he had NO way helped Sonic into fruition. He's only a writer in the "SATAM" and "Sonic Underground" series.

I just read your whole post on the Ken Penders forums... Wow. What a interesting and heartfelt story man! :o

I wonder how Penders and BobR are going to react.

It's odd that in mentioning all those creators he specifically did not mention Ben Hurst despite mentioning Pat Allee.
