'Eh, at one point I thought that Mii would be interesting, but now I'm not so sure. Now I'm thinking its probably best not to include Mii's at all.

I still to this day see no issue with adding Mii's. Some people like it, some don't. Like every super smash character. No difference.

I would love Nintendo to represent themselves through a Mii.(since, lets be real, Reggie has little to no chance) using Wiimotes, DS stylists,Gamepads, etc. They could be awesome as a way to go through the console history of Nintendo.

Mii characters would be kinda neat. It'd be a bit awkward though if it randomizes when Mii comes up in single player modes like Classic and All-Star, Imagine going through classic mode and you have to beat up a Mii of your mom.

Plus, an upside to Miis is then you actually CAN play as Nikki!

So who's getting this for 3DS and who's getting this for Wii U? Or both?

I'm not investing in a Wii U for this game, since I already have a 3DS, and I'd like to know who all I'll be able to play with.

Still having a hard time of which version I should get due to money.

But anyway, on the topic of Miis:

I wouldn't mind if they replace the fighting polygons/alloys/wireframe for the multiman brawl or whatever it called.

Hey you guys, I've been thinking about the roster, and the fact is that I think sakurai may only have plans to expand the roster by a certian amount, thats mainly due to time and quality constraints, however I believe that if he has the time or sees the oppurtunity we may see a larger roster expansion than we could imagine

The only simple way I can think off for miis would be the way mario kart handled them. By size, and have similar moves but some may change depending on size. Maybe all sizes have the same recovery move but the smaller the farther.

There can be small and fat like kirby and tall and skinny like rosalina. Idk. Lol

I literally cannot find a single good reason to not include Mii's as a playable character.

Because if a perfectly good slot in this game goes to those freaking caricatures over any number of good, under-represented franchises I will kill Sakurai where he stands with my space cannon from outer space.

^this right here. Perfect way to include Mii's. What better way to beat up a bunch of NPC's then to do it with your friends and family's faces on them

I realized something about the footage of Little Mac's power meter. It's sped up. (If no one's point that out.) Little Mac's punchout logo, next to his percentages has a smoke effect around it, when the camera zooms in close the effect is moving really fast, but when Mac reaches his limit, the smoke effect slows down.

Not sure if anyone else pointed it out, but I thought why not?

I wouldn't mind ONE slot for Mii, honestly... I can't really stand Mii's personally, though. As much as I've always been a huge Nintendo gamer, that's one thing I far prefer Microsoft for; the Avatars don't look like shit.

I haven't noticed anyone pointing this out yet, unless I completely overlooked them, but it seems Bowser is A LOT heavier and harder to kill than before.  When the trailer shows off Mac's power meter, Bowser's damage ends up pretty damn high, yet Mega Man hits the kill ceiling a lot faster than Bowser does.

Having said that, it seems like the kill explosions might have been backwards?  There's either a glitch or some visual trickery there.

I think Bowser had died before the KO punch hit him and his damage got reset to something lower.  Unless they made him unrealistically heavy, he would've been sent A LOT faster off the top of the screen by an attack that strong at a % that high (231% is a % such that most attacks would kill you).

Also, GameXplain analysis of Little Mac:

As well as my own:

mine is instantly better because it's 13:37 length lol

This would only work if all characters were roughly the same size, or even the same body structure. And even if they forced it to work anyway I'm not entirely sure how I'd feel about my Mii crawling around quadrupedally like Pikachu, or lumbering about clumsily like DK, or fucking eating people like Kirby and Yoshi.

Hmm...

Now I want to see Miis with that kind of playstyle in action, if only out of hilarity.

yeah I noticed the smoke effect and you can see Megaman's and Bowser's shadows moving pretty fast too.

His damage was over 200% when he died if you pause the video at the right time

Do we really need a repeat of this?

No, I think this would be great, instead of Fighting Wire Frame or Polygons or Alloys, Fighting Glitches!  Welcome to the fold, Pikadorf, Peach the Hedgehog and Toon Metalink

I think Megaman died first really fast because he was in front so he went straight up in the air and bowser was close enough to get hit too, making him go slightly to the right but slower. I imagine if bowser was in front he would probably fly up faster and mega man would to the right and probably slower, assuming his % is lower than bowsers.

Sakurai's clearly content with Megaman being Mac's punching bag.

Pic of the day. Little Mac can deliver some solid punches while fighting on the ground.

But Sakurai confirms what Doc Louis implied when he said Mac "ain't no air fighter."

htv990.jpg

...However, he's not the strongest fighter while airborne. Try keeping his feet on the ground and avoid being blasted into the air when you use him in battles.

I like how Mac's weakness in the air is displayed in his expression. His face is screaming "What am I doing up here."

About this line.  I kept listening to it and due to Doc's rather thick accent it's a little unclear, but it may also be interpreted as "You ain't no out-fighter Mac".  An out-fighter (or out-boxer) in boxing is a boxer who specialises in spacing their opponents, constantly trying to maintain a gap with long range punches.  As a result it could be commenting on Mac's lack of reach due to his smaller size.

For Smash 4 they probably opted to make Mac more of a swarmer boxer.  One who relies on weaving and bobbing to get in close to the opponent to overwhelm them up close with shorter ranged hooks and uppercuts.  Another interesting thing to note about swarmers is that their careers tend not to last as long due to the intense nature of the fighting style, which again would kind of make sense for Mac here as he seems to be a glass cannon character in this game.

I bet he'll look goofy when fighting in the air. Even seeing him trying to attack Wii fit. It was slow and predictable. But still his ground attacks makes up for weak air attacks.

I think I'm more excited to play as little mac more than rosalina.

Mega man is still on top.

Lol Little Mac is tiny! X3 Look how small he is compared to Megaman awww!

It's certainly going to be interesting playing as a character who isn't any use in the air.

I'm sure someone will find a way to use him in the air.

I was going to say the same. Only the future will tell though. I just hope his recovery isn't as bad as they made it out to be in the trailer. I'm hoping he can use other B (or special attacks) to help him recover. His little charge punch that causes him to slide @ 1:26 in the trailer looks like he could have applications when air borne to help recover horizontally. Even @ 1:12 in the trailer, when Little Mac jumps into the ring, that doesn't look like the double jump but an attack. I could be wrong and he could have just attacked after shortly double jumping (and his jump is that bad) but it looks like while recovering, Little Mac can mix in special attacks to help him recover.

I don't really have any trouble understanding Doc's accent. It was pretty clear to me that he said "air-fighter." Context clues also suggest this because he follows it up with "quit foolin' around up there!" as he attempts to recover.

Anyway, am I the only one who saw the trailer and thought the punch he uses to ignore Mega Man's projectile was a lot like Balrog's EX overhead special in Street Fighter?
