Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed: Bug Thread [PATCH UPDATE 3/21/13]

Looks like Starlight Carnival is very glitchy based on how many people have weird stuff happen on it. I found a video of a respawn bug which affected what looks like the entire online lobby.

Weird. I've played Starlight Carnival a ton, and the worst thing that's happened to me is when I drift at the wrong moment. Nothing like this though.

All these Galactic Parade glitches don't make me amused, I thought it was going to be my favourite track of the game. But then again, so far it looks nice and it seems to affect just a few users. And I still don't have the game so yeah, but so far Galactic Parade still seems to be my favourite besides Race of AGES.

INFECTED

I've played it a lot of times, and never got glitches, maybe I'm just lucky. What I did see happen was a hilarious glitch in the Sonic Retro Stream where Bartman launched another racer into the stratosphere by tapping them from behind.

Interestingly (although it may just be a fluke), when my brother and I both tried playing online together via split-screen multiplayer, we didn't seem to encounter the freezing glitch that we've run into literally every other time we've tried to play online together.

I'm wondering if we just got lucky (since admittedly once we did manage to play about 2-3 races before it froze), or if it's specifically an issue when doing local-online multiplayer with one person using the TV and the other on the gamepad.

Hey guys, nice to meet you all!

I don't have the time to read 20 pages right now but I would like to ask a question: Is there any planned fix for the weird collision detection on online mode? I was playing on the PS3 with the Retro Guys and sometimes I would just be tossed around. That really needs a fix.

  • 2 weeks later...

Theres a major bug on the Vita version of the game.

I set up a custom game... we then all quit the game and return to the lobby.

There is then no way to restart that game without everybody then leaving the lobby and inviting everyone back into it again.

Why is this a problem? It's hell when trying to get the team sonic trophy and having to rely on the CPU picking the right character if you are under the number of players.

Has SUMO said anything about a patch yet? I remember people telling me to wait because of the holiday season, but it is almost February now. I wonder what the news is regarding possible updates?

....Which system?

Only if you mean the Wii-U patch that fixes the Career mode bug, thats been out for about a month or two hasn't it?

Yup, that one has been out for a while.

Issues I want fixed

-Vibration turned on for U Pro Controller

-Alex Kidd AI fix (currently, he crashes and gets stuck for the entire race)

-Alex Kidd Mod Fix

-Boat transform spawn glitch (A lot of people notice this during the NiGHTS level)

-Online collision problems

-Sound glitches (Haven't had this in the Wii U edition, but yeah)

We're certainly not ignoring these, indeed we've been busy both before and after the holidays addressing them. We've dropped new code with SEGA to check out the corrections, and once they're confirmed, the next step is getting them submitted to the platformer holders.

So it's coming, but you have to understand that this process takes time. Much as we'd love to push out instant updates, it's not quite that easy. For example we found and fixed the Wii U version the day after it was reported, but it took well over two weeks for the fix to get checked out, submitted and approved. Same is true here, even when we're satisfied it's all fine, it still needs checking by SEGA QA, then by the platform holders. Trust me, we're trying to get it to you as quickly as possible.

...that said, hopefully not too much longer...!

I've not played online, but there are collision/physics problems offline, too. I've been steadily playing through World Tour and when I bump into other racers they get a boost. Same happens if someone bumps me.

Anyway, I'm glad to hear there is a patch on the way, S0L smile.png

Online mode has a little bugs.

For example, when in the room there are 6 or more players, the match will be crash and show an error but sometimes, even the console is frozen (XBOX 360).

Colision online system is awful.

Another thing they should improve is the score online because when someone is losing, he left the match because if he didn't, he lose points. In my opinion, you should earn points allways as normal game.

Un saludo

The points thing you mentioned is something that kinda bothers me. I've gone against and would've beaten maybe two people who had 2000+ points and I'm like "Ya know, this would be a good opportunity to get some more points!" But then they both left and I didn't get much of a point gain at all, assuming that's the way the system works.

And those network errors. Often times I'd be in the third lap, and I have about half of it left, and I would've won the thing, but then it gives me a network error every now and then. Not sure if it's my internet connection or not, but these things happen frequently for me.

I have the game more than a month, 56 hours of playtime, and I never ever had a single freeze, I swear to God. I'm really that luck, or do I got a golden ticket version lol? I think these issues are priority on the Xbox 360 and Wii U. But the online collision and the online scoring system are a must for all versions, not to mention so other track bugs like: the snake's mouth, that unknow force that pushes you left or right after leaving the nightmare section (3rd lap) in Dream Valley.

I only ever had one game breaking glitch (Wii U version). On Dragon Canyon, when playing as AGES, I wouldn't transform into the boat properly for some reason. So it just looped the Hornet sinking into the water over and over.

Thank you very much. I'm quiet knowing that this problems not only happening to me.

I hope they will solve soon.

I was in first last night on the golden axe stage and doing great. I was online in matchmaking. One player rams me on the side after we both hit a boost pad. I flipped in the air and turned around backwards and couldnt move for a few mins and went to 8th and finished with 4th. To dear god fix the collisions and invisible bumps hidden like in the snake mouth. First lap flip twice perfect boost. 2nd lap flip twice and spin sideways into the wall.

Experiencing a PC version bug. Every time I try to run the game with one of my controllers, the game runs as if I'm constantly pushing the joystick up and left. It only happens in ASRT, so I know it's not a controller problem, and it's made things so I can't even change my control settings. Suggestions?

Generations had similar bug in Steam version. But pirated one was bug-free, even if it was Steam rip as well. :)

Good news everyone!GoodNewsEveryone.jpg

Some guys report: it looks like Metal Sonic is already available in the pirated version of the game! That's just like with Casino Night DLC in Generations!

well, lets see, its believed the pirated version is based off the disk version, which could just well have it on it just like the console versions, however its impossible to tell on normal steam version until the file pack is cracked
