It's a day like any other. You wake up, get ready for the day, and then sit down to do what you've always done; go on your favorite board and post about Sonic. As you sit down and write your post on how Big the Cat is really an allegory for Cold War fear in the US, you think to yourself it's a day like any other. But what you don't know, is this is not your typical day on SSMB. For earlier a terrible experiment gone wrong has unleashed a horrible virus into the community....and soon this epidemic will take over the forums as we know it. Will you be the last person left standing on the forums, or will the next post spread this horrible infection to you....

This is going to be a little forum game that anyone who wants to can participate in. If it sounds fun to you feel free to sign up, BUT READ ALL THE RULES FIRST GOING INTO IT......otherwise you may not come out alive (or the game will not work and have to be called off).

 

HOW IT WORKS

 

This is a game that is going to be played mainly in your signature, so you must be willing to edit your signature to play along. 

 

HUMANS

 

Everyone who wants to participate will sign up here. You must have read all the rules before you sign up, this is mandatory. After you sign up you can put the picture above in your signature. You must add this to your signature to signify that you are participating or you can't play. As an uninfected human you will just go about your normal posting life on the forums.....hoping that you won't fall pray to the....

 

ZOMBIES

 

When the game starts one of the participants who signs up will be chosen as the first Zombie. As a Zombie, you will put the Zombie badge in your signature. It will be your job to spread the infection around the board, as well as keep a list of who you've infected in your signature. You are allowed to infect only one human per day though, so keep that in your rotting, infected mind. 

 

But how do you infect those tasty humans you might ask?

 

GAMEPLAY

 

Obviously the goal of the game as a Zombie is to spread your infection around to the other players. You will do that by 'Biting' them. How do you bite someone you might ask? It's very simple, all you need to do is have one of your forum posts be under a Human Player's post.

 

THIS IS A REGULAR, NON SPAMMY POST BY BOARD RULES. YOU MAY NOT POST SOMETHING SPAMMY JUST TO INFECT SOMEONE, IT MUST STILL FOLLOW ALL FORUM RULES

 

So after you make your post, you will simply write INFECTED, and you can add them to your infected list. You should also notify this person that you have infected them, whether by sending the a PM, comment, etc. 

 

As the person who has been infected, it's their job to change their signature to update this fact and start infecting other players, and so on and so forth

 

AN EXAMPLE OF THIS HERE

 

Protection

 

Unfortunately the Zombies of SSMB are much too strong, and nothing is capable of killing them. The best we can do is hold off the inevitable, luckily you have a crack team of medical scientists here on the SSMB Mod team who have worked on a cure for the infection. Unfortunately we are only able to make so many of these, but we will try to distribute them as we can.  

 

At random points, us Mod Doctors will distribute cures to zombies by editing their signature with the Cured Symbol. 

 

 

What this means is that person is now a human again, and we'll change their Zombie Status to Human status to reflect that. Unfortunately the medicine is only able to work once per person, and if a zombie bites you again you will go back to being a zombie as before....but leave the healed symbol to show that you can't be healed again.

 

It may not be much, but it might buy us some time in this Zombie holocaust.

There are going to be some places on the forum you can post without worry about being infected. This list might grow in the future but for now it's

Endgame

 

With the number of people participating  I'm giving this game a week. It will run until the 17th, we may all be long dead before that...but it gives us a date.

 

The game will either end on that date, or when everyone has turned into a zombie.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE

 

As this is a forum game, and thus a privilege, anyone seen abusing this will be strictly reprimanded. Anyone making spammy posts just to infect people will be removed from the game permanently, and if this game causes problems or disrupts the board it will end immediately. 

 

We want this to be fun for all, so please don't abuse it.

 

So If you would like to sign up to join in in this game, please do comment below and feel free to start editing yourself into zombie mode.

You can if you want, just to start things off. I'm going to wait on releasing the zombies until we give people a chance to sign up so it's not a super huge rush.

If the game had started, she'd have only Infected Sean since a zombie can only infect ONE person a day, and Pelly already infected Sean on the 8th, so I wouldn't count =P

But that example was an example. You won't find those two posts anywhere and if you do, the mods are breaking the rules as those are spammy posts. =O

 

Oh and here's the important part, Sean is still a human. XP

You can only infect them by posting beneath them, and you have to claim the infection by writing infection at the end of your post, listing it, and contacting them

Well, in an apocalyptic setting if someone isn't heard from in some days it's safe to assume they are dead... So I'd like to have some sort of forced infection rule for those who plan to sit int their nuke shelters or weapon stores and do nothing but hear the static of the radio with the occasional scream for holy salvation.

 

That or they turn into something else, that could be interesting... A mushroom of sorts or a blue herb would be cool. :V

 

 

 

Oh well, I guess I can be in, but I don't expect to be too much of an useful Zombie considering I only roam in... 2 topics in this entire forum. DX

ps: Besides, everyone knows Big's constant clinging to his friend and the mayhem it causes in the process perfectly matches the desperate need for the free nations to cooperate and do "not so nice" things out of their fear of being steamrolled by the communist machine.
