  • Sonic's Second Speed Cafe Has A New Opening Date - Black Friday 2023!

    The second Sonic Speed Cafe pop-up restaurant has overcome its construction delays and is now preparing for a new launch date in San Bernardino County, South California - and it's tomorrow (Friday 24th November)! That's Black Friday!

    But there's a good reason you might want to skip the annual shopping spree and hit the new pop-up in Chino Hills instead - tomorrow's Grand Opening celebration will take place from 11am PT, and members of SEGA of America will be in attendance too. You might get to meet someone who helps make your favourite video games!

    We first reported on the exciting new location for the Sonic Speed Cafe a good few weeks ago, but the formal opening of the new Southern Californian outlet was ultimately delayed due to "unforeseen construction" issues. As a result, the closing date for this pop-up has also been pushed back to compensate - the Cafe will now be open from November 24 - February 29, 2024. 

    As we said in our previous report, there will be new menu items to try at this new restaurant, from a 'City Escape BBQ Hot Dog' with bacon and crispy onions, a spicy hot chicken sandwich and a recipe from the 'Sonic the Hedgehog Official Cookbook' called Mac & Chao. As with the San Diego debut location, there will also be cool Sonic Speed Cafe branded merchandise to buy on-site too.

    Take a look at the photos we received from SEGA in this story - and if you fancy making a trip to the new Sonic Speed Cafe, the pop-up can be found at 13865 City Center Dr. #3080, Chino Hills, CA 91709 and will be open daily from 11am - 9pm PT. Sonic the Hedgehog will also be present on occasion, and frequent giveaways will happen as well. So try your luck!

    ...I'll be honest, taking that name at face value I'd feel guilty eating it.

    I hope if the second café is successful, the team can open up new future restaurants in other states. I would love to have one in Dallas!
