  • New Eggrobo and Knuckles Figures Headline Latest Jakks Pacific Figure Wave

His arms are straight, man! STRAIGHT!

It's amazing the things you can find in the check out lane. Candy, gum, Archie Super Digest... and if you're lucky, unannounced Sonic figures! At least, that's what one lucky Walmart shopper found on their daily stroll: The latest wave of 2.5 inch Jakks Pacific Sonic figures!

    image(31).thumb.png.f51c70f94d55481c84d7396240a86d66.png

Considered a "Checklane Wave" due to its unique box packaging and placement in the check out aisles of department stores; this tenth wave introduces not only a wave of reissues, but two new figures to boot!

I know the image ain't exactly what one would call crystal clear, so from left to right, the figures are:

Eggrobo (NEW!), Sonic, Amy, Knuckles (NEW!), Newtron, Super Sonic.

That's right, this is the first time Eggrobo is being released under the 2.5 inch scale! There was a 4 inch Eggrobo released as part of that line's ninth wave, and from what we can see, all the core details of that original figure is properly accounted for!

This new scale also will allow Eggrobo to be compatible with several playsets! Most notably, the Egg Mobile Battle Set, allowing you to have Eggrobo man the iconic hovercraft to recreate your favorite Sonic & Knuckles moments!

But what about that Knuckles? We've seen a 2.5 inch Modern Knuckles before, what makes this new figure so different? Two words. Straight. Arms.

Every 2.5 inch Modern Knuckles until now had arms that are bent at an angle to replicate his fists being up, ready to fight... as well as provide ample articulation on account of all those dreads.

That ain't a problem for our new echidna friend, whose elbows are as straight as a Sonic Forces level at long last!

Overall, this new wave of 2.5 inch figures is looking pretty solid! Eggrobo and the new Knuckles are great headliners for the wave, while also giving army builders and newer collectors a chance to collect older figures, like more Newtrons, or a Super Sonic!

So, next time you are at a Target, or a Wal-Mart, shift through that check out lane! You'll never know who you might find... Maybe before Jakks even announces they even exist!

4 inch, I assume you mean? 10 inch would be MASSIVE.

But yeah, I feel you there. I don't think Mephiles released where I live.

The boxed checklane waves are usually found at Walmart specifically, FYI. Target has the blister packs with the character visible. There's usually a different assortment of characters between retailers.

Good catch! I guess I was so focused in everything Sonic related seeming to be originating from Target, that Walmart caught me off-guard.
