Hot on the heels of Sonic Dream Team, it looks like yet more Sonic games on mobile platforms are on the way, per a SEGA Sammy Management Meeting slide deck from last week. On a slide highlighting SEGA's post-Rovio-acquisition strategies, it is directly stated that there are currently multiple Sonic mobile development projects:
Given the context of the page, this does suggest that these titles are being made by or in cooperation with Rovio themselves: the block noting the new games is nestled between statements about Rovio's Beacon platform aiding Sonic and Hatsune Miku mobile entries, and using Angry Birds for IP collabs and console/PC releases.
One factor in this mobile push appears to be serving more global markets, particularly Asia and especially China. The deck frequently highlights the importance of expanding their mobile offerings to Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, China, and other Asian countries. China is distinctly listed as one pillar of "Growth Opportunities," and SEGA plans to release a Chinese version of Persona 5: The Phantom X.
Beyond these revelations, most of the deck is the same song and dance we've heard over the last couple of years: Super Game is coming (whatever it/they are), Like a Dragon continues to gain steam globally, and they want to do more transmedia projects beyond Sonic. There was also a brief reminder that Atlus is planning to release Metaphor Re Fantazio (I refuse to look up if I put the correct number of spaces in that title), and they even showed off key art, screenshots, and new names for the five in-development "POWER SURGE" games.
