  • SEGA Hiring For Sonic Game Development

What could the Sonic Team be cooking now?

Just a week after the release of Sonic Frontiers, SEGA’s looking to hire new developers to work on future games in the franchise.

SEGA of Japan’s Twitter account made the announcement yesterday, saying it was “looking for people to work on the Sonic the Hedgehog series,” before linking to a job listing.

Whether this is an expansion of existing development capability, or filling in existing positions, is currently unknown.

I really hope they can expand the team for the mainline series. I love Frontiers but there is still jank in it. It sounds like they are still being spread thin even with the longer development cycle. 22 hour workdays should not be normal. They deserve to get a big boost after the effort they put into Frontiers. They could do some amazing things with the groundwork already established and some more talent on the team.
