psychokinesis sounds? O_O

the only sounds i can remember hearing clearly were the ones from Rivals. which sounded like a monster getting hit with something.

In 06 when you used psychokinesis there waqs a small sound effect, and other effect when you dropped items. You cant describe this. But here you should hear them

And Chaos Spear has sound effect too. Its like thunder but calmer.

It's sad that even if Generations' Dreamcast and Modern era levels are filled with perfect nostalgia-promoting moments and references, that critics won't understand, see or feel it. Heck, i've seen some sites complaining that City Escape isn't a memorable stage. sad.gif

Seriously? All the sites I've seen said it's iconic! IGN, mainly. The guy previewing it was so enamored with the stage, he only mentioned the problems in like, one sentence at the end, while the rest was recollecting happy memories with Adventure 2. So yeah, I don't see where those other sites would be coming from.. all the levels up to City Escape should at least get a lot of love and recognition as classics.

As for the later levels in the Modern Era, they'd be unique as hell anyway, so even if they aren't considered "iconic", it shouldn't stop them from being considered unique and solid levels.

What i'm really trying to get at is the fact that a lot of critics and people outside the fanbase won't pick up or understand a lot of the great throwbacks, references and easter eggs. That might have an effect on the scores they hand out. Even if the throwbacks and references are all great, some might not get a nostalgic seizure out of City Escape, even if its better than Chemical Plant, for example.

I gotta say at first the idea of having an ending stage like Planet Wisp raised an eyebrow from me in terms of final area progression(In comparison to the epic Eggmanland in Unleashed), but upon giving it thought, there's a lot of room for eerie nature-mechanical dissonance that the whole area puts out. If that dissonance is capitalized on it could make for a really epic final level. Like taking any possible Green Hill trope and combining it with any possible Scrap Brain trope and extrapolating delicious stage design, challenge/difficulty(it is the last stage), and scenery porn to the max.

The concept of them possibly fleshing out the natural environment being especially drool worthy and then really showcasing how destructive Eggman's influence was on the green world the massive working industry responsible being the end all be all for Sonic vs. Eggman metaphorical meaning. It'd be even more legit if they actually showed some what exactly Plant Wisp was going to become (Maybe a prospective planetary Eggmanland. @_@ that would be insane and awesome)

And considering the progress they've made with stages like Rooftop Run, even the minimum of the above theory craft would be orgastic. Hell the symbolism alone behind Plant Wisp is enough to make me squee.

Well, Planet Wisp is the last zone we know. There is still that "???" stage that's kind of a mystery... (Hopefully....), so your hope for that epic "Eggmanland" stage is still there after. Besides, in Unleashed, wasn't our last stage before Eggmanland Adabat? Correct me if I'm wrong. Planet Wisp before the final level suddenly doesn't seem that out of place.

Well, in the newer gameplay footage, City Escape's opening screen had those three question marks, rather than.. well, "City Escape". At this point, each stage could be a mystery until you start playing, to sort of add to the hype factor. Like, "what classic level is coming back? Oh man, I wonder what it is!" and bam, you get facepalmed with Sky Sanctuary epicocity, and your body explodes from not being properly prepared. Once the level is beaten, the title card reads "Sky Sanctuary" instead of "???", and it could work this way for all the levels, maybe.

That's just my guess, but I'm not sure if we'll be seeing a 10th level, based on the data and usage of the "???" in the recent Gamescon demos. Though the statements I applied to the other stages could be applied to a final, 10th level as well, so who knows?

I am certain that the final level takes place in a Sega Genesis.

I think I have a good idea of what planet wisp will look like. The earlier acts of the stage will be a natural paradise. It will incorporate aspects from Angel Island, Lost Jungle, Green Forest and Frog forest. The earlier acts of the stage explore the natural parts of Planet Wisp. However near the end of the stage you get to the factory parts of the level.

In the later acts, Planet Wisp pulls an angel island and Eggmans forces bomb the hell out of the planet. Now the later acts will incorporate aspects from Angel Island act 2 and Palmtree Panic bad future (only a lot harder due to the fact that this is last level) The skies of the planet will be dark red as fire engulfs the scenery and machinery starts covering the tress. You see wisps fleeing in terror from Eggmans robots and a pollluted lake in the background.

The factory parts of the level has aspects incorporated from Scrap Brain, metropolis, and Eggmanland.

I think we should run trough Planet Wisp when Time Holes destroy it. After all it was last game before Gen. It would be epic to run trough forest when trees and factories are pulled to time holes.
