New Sonic Unleashed stages released

Apparently, there is a misunderstanding, Venom.

Nay I mention that I was NOT saying that they were not fans of the franchise. Yes, to each and his own. They are still fans of the series, of course. But believe me, I was not directly saying that they were not Sonic fans.

I thought "Those fans who think they are Sonic fans are far outdated to be considered Sonic fans" was pretty direct.

Possibly, there is not much wrong with being a retro fan, either. However, what I am trying to day is, it is somewhat silly to complain about something that is not going to change to suit their desires at all. Of course, while whining is nothing that can be considered illegal, pointlessly whinging about something they do not like just makes them more foolish and immature. They can at least give some reasons why they thought the DLC sucked.
I agree that constructive criticism is better than regular ol' criticism. However, they have the right to complain about it. 3D console Sonic games have not been very well received and if retro fans want the franchise to take elements from the classic 2D titles because they liked those games, then they have the right to. It doesn't matter if their complaints end up changing anything.

But all in all, I am not really saying that they are not Sonic fans at all. When I said "outdated" and "unfit", I meant that they are making themselves look foolish and immature by the way they are acting,
I thought by "unfit", you meant that they were unworthy or unqualified(the actual definition of the word "unfit") of being called Sonic fans(as if the title held some kind of merit).

But yeah, if you say it's an error in communication, I guess I'll just take your word for it.

EDIT: Ah, yes. Back on topic now.

I'd like to see Shamar updates. Arid Sands act 1 is already one of my favorite stages in the game and I think that a harder version of it as well as some new acts would be really cool.

Sonic Stadium already has an article on the whole Sonic fans argument thing

Just sayin'

That aside though, I'm hoping by this Friday when I get payed again I can get some points and get some of this DLC action. Any type of new stage is fine by me, since I've played all of them billions of times by now (cept Eggmanland, since it is a longer level and all).

New Werehog levels are also a big plus for me.

I want Mazuri updates and I want a level based entirely in the jungle. I always felt that I wanted to explore the jungle more than we got it. Also a Holoska update would be nice, I'd like a type of level that all takes place on slippery ice and you have to navigate narrow paths with slipping and sliding around and etc :P But then again I'd also like an Apotos, Spagonia, Empire City, Shamar and Adabat update :P And new continents.

Something that might be interesting and satisfy the classic fans, perhaps re-decorate the stage maps to fit into classic levels? A Casino themed Windmill Isle Act 2(Day), or a Sandopolis themes Savannah Citedal Act 1 (Day), or a Chemical Plant themed Jungle Joyride Act 1 (Day)? I would buy it providing it was cheap.

I'm perfectly fine with the retro fans. They can talk shit about Sonic all they want, I just hate the one's that say "Sonic is dead/should die" or "You like 3D Sonic so you're opinion doesn't count."

Soo it seems like:

Shamar: III

Adabat: II

Empire city: III

Apotos: II

Mazuri: I

Spagonia: II

Holoska: I

EGGY: I

Remakes: I

Ha so Shamar is in the lead by 1 vote. Still taking votes on the next DLC.

Edit: FYI I only looked at this page soo there may be more votes for each area.

EDIT: I'll update this like every page.. once maybe twice a day.

EGGY: ZERO

Who wants more Eggmanland that stage is annoying, it took me 75 minutes to complete....

They need to release remakes of old stages.

I would not mind more eggmanland stuff. It has a great epic feeling once you get used to it; it has a wicked learning curve.

Wicked? You mean a level beyond wicked, one word....DAMN!. Ha even after you beat the stage like 10x straight, the stage will still kick your ass. Swear I'll never get that one achievement, Eat everything in the whole world. :(DAMN YOUR EGGYLAND!

Skyscraper Scamper (Empire City) is my favorite stage overall in the entire game so I'd love for more levels from that area.

+1 EggmanLand lover here... one of the best final stages of a Sonic game ever. Haven't had one that long and epic since Sonic Adventure 2, and even then it felt cut off due to being in a seperate story...

I would love DLC for every continent... out of interest, does anyone LIKE the gimmick levels? Here's the ones we've had so far:

APOTOS: Day Grinding, Night Doors

MAZURI: Day Drifting, Night Balancing

HOLOSKA: None

SPAGONIA: None (Could say Chao collecting but that isn't a gimmick on any other levels...)

CHUN-NAN: Day Spinning Platforms, Day Water Running, Night Block Switches, Night Pole Swinging

SHAMAR: QTEs

EMPIRE CITY: Narrow paths

ADABAT: Side-stepping

EGGMANLAND: None

While I would take a new full stage any day, I do like the gimmick ones too. Which gimmicks would people like to see tested to the limit?

Day ones that haven't been done would include Air boost, homing attack, light dash, ground stomp, wall jumping, pole swinging, springs, wall-running (very similar to sidestepping though), Holoska's ice, Holoska/EggmanLand's bobsled/brokenrollercoaster.

As for night: Pole climbing, ledge edging, structure breaking (Holoska's ice block and Adabat's removed tree knocking down), block pushing (though there has been a boss based around that...).

I think some of those gimmicks have good potential for mini-levels, though some would be downright boring if not done cleverly. I think of all of them I'd love a level spent entirely with homing attacks the best. It could be done, and made interesting when I think about it enough.

I'd love some new Eggmanland stages as long as they keep the day/night sections as separate levels.

I can't stand Eggmanland...it's the toughest stage and I'm sick of dying unfairly on that stage. I haven't played Eggmanland again ever since I've completed the whole stage once. XD

Ditto. The game on a whole forgets to add lower paths to avoid bottomless pits, but on Eggman Land it's really something else. If you just couldn't fall off the stage in so many places (invisible walls) or there were other paths it's be much better. The when you don't keep falling it feel like a stage ripped out of Sonic 2/3/K. Bloody awesome. They should add more to it, because they could be pretty decent.

Well, I just finished playing through all the downloaded stages. Lets just saying that the day stages were bit frustrating, and the night levels actually made the werehog fun.

I have a question though, wasn't the DLC supposed to help fix/decrease the frame rate issues. I just played through the Adabat stage and it seemed to play worse than before I dl the extra stages.

At least I have a reason to play sonic unleashed again. The only stage I S ranked so far was the first night stage, so I have a little ways to go.

I can do eggman land in just over 10 min on a good day... I say they bring out an Eggman Land "EXTREEEEEME MODE!"

Seeing as it was the only level in the game that gave me any sort of a challenge, I'd love to see this one as well!

There are tons of hard challenges outside Eggmanland already. DX

The problem with Adabat is that there are tons of framerate drops....especially running on the water in full speed...

Thats one thing that I'll never understand. I have the PS3 version and I've yet to find many frame rate drops. I only found them in the high speed chases.
