I honestly don't think Azul was intending to be rude or to complain - I think he was just attempting to make a joking sort of comment, but I can see why he came across the wrong way. I would advise Azul to be more careful next time so that he doesn't sound like he's complaining, but in all honesty I don't think he did anything really wrong, it was just a case of poor judgment at worst. But whatever he did, even if we assume the worst, it certainly doesn't deserve the response it got.

Yeah, see this...this isn't okay, in fact it's a lot worse than Azul's comment, even assuming it was malicious (which I seriously doubt). Non-moderators "calling out" members - and in such a scolding, harsh, judgmental way - is not cool, and the fact that the offense you're criticizing was relatively minor only makes it worse. You already reported the comment, so why the heck did you feel the need to step in yourself? While Surreal did something similar, at least he was far more polite and modest about it.

I get it, you're annoyed, but lashing out isn't going to make things better. This conversation stops now.

Look everyone, please just calm down. This really isn't something that needs to get this serious or angry. 

Azul, to answer your question, we recently shut down Handheld events because people kept time wasting us. To summarise, we placed it on a break or two, and people started complaining a lot about it. We brought it back, and it got a bare response. Smash was the only game being played and any attempts to try something else was met with people voting and not bothering to come. Considering how much time goes into getting the event up and running, we just decided it simply wasn't worth trying to get that event up and running especially since it runs beside Encore. In the future, we might hold one off Handheld events, but for now it's on hiatus/cancelled.

That said however, you can still take part in the night. The one thing Klonoa failed to clarify was both Cards Against Humanity Online, and Towns of Salem are free to play browser games, and Cards Against Humanity especially can run on basically anything, to the point tablets and phones can run it. However, it being Cards Against Humanity, you need to understand it's an 18+ game due to the fact they do not hold back on content, so if you are to play it, play at your own risk, and be aware that any statements said in the cards do not represent the player's actual opinions on the matter.

Yeah, I forgot to mention they're both browser games. However, a few clarifications:

-Town of Salem is not a game you can run on your phone, because it's made with flash.

-Town of Salem will start after Cards Against Humanity has ended, possibly around 9 PM EST. We will most likely be playing with randoms due to player count.

Alright, my parts of the Game Night fun are over, and even though Town of Salem is still on-going with Klonoa, I'm ready to make my usual recap po-...well, I guess I should make something better, considering the occasion.

Wow. Just wow. I didn't believe it. I honestly couldn't believe it. 1 full year. I honestly can't believe Game Night has managed to keep going on for so long. It's total shock to be honest. One year ago, Game Night was nothing more than a thought, a dream, a idea. Something thought up by a member who had only been around for five months. Something that would be cool, but would it be feasible? I posted a thread, just explaining the idea, and it got a fair few responses, something I was happy about. I never thought it was going to be able to grow to the level it's at right now. But here we are, one year later. Game Night has four events, even if one is currently on Hiatus/Cancelled. We have badges, and more. Sure, Game Night has had it's ups and it's downs, and it's flat out failures, but failures aren't something to look down on, or be sad about. Those failures have helped the event grow and improve over the one year it's been going. 

It's been...mixed. It's been fun. It's been stressful, and there's a fair few times where the event felt like it was being taken for granted, but at the end, it managed to endure each and every week. It's an idea that could have been shot down in maybe a month tops, but somehow it wasn't. Somehow, we pulled it off, and somehow in the end, we managed to keep it going to the point it seems to be one of the fan favourite events around here on SSMB. From proving yourself the best Fox in final destination no items on Smash, to avoiding those red shells on Mario Kart, to fighting the robotic hoard on TF2, and surviving the zombie onslaught on L4D2, Game Night has managed to provide all of those experiences with fellow SSMBers, and even more. 

We've managed to get tourneys up and running, we managed to consistently hold Game Night, Encore, Handheld, and Beta events all throughout the year, and so much has changed throughout the course of Game Night's one year. From the early days where our chat functionalities was basically a PM, to Chatzy, a chat room that wanted payment to use PMs. Now we've moved to Chatzy which has made life unbelievably easier and less stressful in terms of organizing Game Night. Even now, we're still continuing to grow and change. We've recently managed to add games to the line up like Cards Against Humanity and Town of Salem which basically allows just about everybody to play thanks to requiring no downloads, and such.

Yeah, it truly is amazing how things have changed. Not that it hasn't been a stressful experience, because there's been times where some people have tried to make us look like a bunch of idiots, or just generally taken things for granted, or that one infamous time where I was basically the only person even keeping both Game Night, Encore, and Handheld afloat, but thankfully that period has passed, we now have a lot more people who has decided to help with Game Night, and because of them, and Discord, things have become much less stressful, and much more fun, just like how the event started.

As the founder of the entire event, words really don't begin to describe how proud I am of this entire event. How happy I am to have been able to provide a channel for SSMBers to come together, have some fun, a bit of a laugh, and just add a bit more enjoyment to their weekends. Even throughout the stressful times, just hearing kind words, and thanks for putting together this event was all that was needed. Words really can't begin to describe the thanks I have for Klonoa, who's been with me and Game Night from the very beginning of the event, and all staff, both past and present who have helped get this off the ground, and who have helped make SSMB Community Game Night such a fun experience. 

I remember the days where Game Night was averaging only around 8-12 players per week, and sometimes it would even dip below that, and now here we are, with around at least 15 SSMBers a week, and averaging around 20 SSMBers every week. It's absolutely brilliant how much Game Night's followers have managed to grow over the past year too, and it's a big part of what keeps it running strong.

So, as the founder of this event, I'm absolutely happy to announce that tonight was a complete and utter success, in every possible way. The set up of the night for all three events was relatively simple, and easy to handle thanks to Discord, and everyone seemed to have a brilliant time playing Smash, Cards Against Humanity Online, and Town of Salem. But even better? Our anniversary event has broken our player record. Tonight, we had the absolutely amazing amount of 30 players this week. I hardly need to say how great that is considering the above number from the very beginning of the event was only about 8 players or so. We had 9 for Smash U, 5 for Town of Salem, and 16 for Cards Against Humanity Online, including a whole bunch of new faces this week!

So, there's only one more important thing to discuss. Badges. Now that the anniversary event has ended, you should all expect to see your badges very soon. The badges will be giving out in tiers. First, we're gonna be getting the following badges out of the way:

-1st Anniversary

-Game Night Contributor

-Mario Kart 8 Tourney

-Smash Tourney

-Beta Builder Badge

Once these badges are given out, we will be placing full focus on the participation badge, which as I already said, will be given out in tiers. While this may suck at first, you need to realize I still have all of the previous PMs from all previous Game Nights, which means I will ensure that no one has been left out. The way it will work is I will be going through four weeks at a time, listing down those who attended, and then they will be getting their badges. Once they have received their badges, the people who took part in the next four weeks will receive their badges, and so on so forth. As you can understand, we have a full years worth of Game Nights to get through, and a whole bunch of people who are owned one badge, so we ask for your patience as we get through them all.

So that's that. One full year of Game Nights. There's only one more group to mention. You. I want to thank each and every one of you that has helped, played, or just gave interest into Game Night. You are all why we keep this event going, to provide you with a fun event every single week with your fellow SSMB members. Game Night simply wouldn't be the same without all of you who has taken part in it. You all bring your own cool features into Game Night every single week, and help build some of the best experiences I've had hear in the past year. All I can say is thank you all for your support.

I'll likely remember this event as the one where I played Smash on one screen and was looking at my PC's BIOS in another screen. Not my every day's setting for sure.  Still glad I could play a few games, and next time I'll be sure to have this machine set up properly so that things will go smoother on my end!

As someone who became a lurker around here over the years I really appreciate Game Night as an event. It helps me get in touch with people who I probably wouldn't have found or interacted with as much before. Hoping to see more of this event in the future!

I'm happy to have participated in Game Night's 1st anniversary, even though I haven't done game night for very long (I think it's been about a month now), I've really enjoyed it. 

Once again Cards Against Humanity was a lot of fun. It was a good decision to change the point number to 5, we don't get stuck with the same hands, and we get to play a few games, Is it going to be 5 points for future nights?

Wanted to give a big congrats to Ryan and the team for the one year anniversary! You've done a great job and should be very proud of all you've done. Bringing all these guys together for a few games could go terribly but you've kept everything well run and fun. Had a blast last night playing Cards Against Humanity (Hooray, I won the last one) and Town of Salem ( really need to get better at it). Give yourself a pat on the back guys, you did good!
