Has google said anything yet? or are they just waiting it out? there probably thinking if they wait long enough people will just stop complaining.

The thing with these companies, and by these companies we can include, Facebook, twitter & Microsoft into this.

When it comes to internet services, they usually take 2 steps forward 1 step back when it comes to changes.

odds are whats going to happen is that they'll perform more changes to 'improve' the site, which will remove a few of the more unpopular features, but in a few months time a minor change will be made that more or less gives us what we've got now.

The problem google has is that Yahoo is rapidly snapping at their heals when it comes to web services, google is trying to do similar things to what Microsoft did years ago with software, make it's products the 'standard' so if a rival pops up, they'll find it hard to compete.

I'm not much a big commenter on videos, replies, etc.. but I do message from time to time, but like what the actual fuck?! This one is retarded. I would make a comment box and host it on a separate URL and post it to videos, description before I'd ever join "Google-" Google what the hell happened?!  ):

So youtube seems to be having stability issues, I can view the homepage (what to watch tab) and watch videos mostly fine, but when I go to the my subscriptions tab:

500 Internal Server Error

Sorry, something went wrong.

A team of highly trained monkeys has been dispatched to deal with this situation.

If you see them, show them this information:

Oh yeah, not sure if this is related to GOOGLE+ or if it's a PS4 thing.

But all of a sudden, the PS3 youtube app not only no longer works, it's been removed from some regions of the PSN store.

Well, I do like the description of monkeys. I've gotten some of my Favorite videos to work. Granted, they were still open from yesterday, but I still got them to work. :P

I can't view the homepage, but if I use the built-in search engine on Google Chrome, I can still search for a video.  Interesting.

EDIT - Tested in FireFox, and the results are the same.  It just keeps getting better and better.

EDIT 2 - And now I can't watch videos.  Lovely.

What does the PS4 have to do with YouTube?

And I'll bet a team of highly trained monkeys wouldn't do something as stupid as this.

Because the PS4 launched on the same day that the youtube app randomly died which also put huge strain on both the PS3 and PS4 side of the network.

Well, YouTube has had shitty redesigns for a while now. The YouTube One layout, the constant buffering, now the Google + shit. I hate to repeat this, but it looks like YouTube is going to crash and burn in a short time. Then again, maybe it won't. Who knows?
I'm more pessimistic about YouTube's changes. I've gotten used to a few, and when it seems like we've finally got used to a design, another comes, and we have to adjust to that. I've already gotten used to the Google + thing, and hey, we get unlimited comments, even if some are spam.

When YouTube dies, what will be next?

Wait, wait, the YouTube app died?….As in the iOS YouTube app?….Shit…..Actually I lost faith in the YouTube app when it was removed from automatically being on the iOS devices.

ALL HAIL THE DAILYMOTION EMPIRE

I really hope that doesn't happen, daily motion has one very crappy search system and even when a video is there it won't look it up no matter how much I try (even typing in the exact name) plus, for some reason I get more vids in spanish then english ones (though this is from looking up mostly gameplay vids and what not so it might just be that, also haven't used the place in months).

The youtube app is dead?

Ok...

On the PS3 you can download a youtube app... I do not know if this app is unique to the PS3 or if it's the same on other formats...

Anyway.

The day the PS4 came out, it started to go all wrong, it will play a video for about 60 seconds, then freeze the video, but the audio still plays.

Or it'll completely crash.

It's then been discovered that the app has been removed from several different PSN store fronts.

And nobody seems to know if this is due to the PS4 launch putting strain on the network... Google+ having an impact... or... the youtube app has a bug in it which has now come into effect for... reasons.

My YouTube still doesn't work for some reason. It DOES seem like actual monkeys are running the site. Considering the shotty web design YT's been getting for the past few years, I won't be surprised if that was actually the case.

In response to some of the redesign comments made:

I think the best thing YouTube introduced through redesigns were the new video page - it's clean, easy to use and the videos are expandable which is awesome. But every single channel update has been a step backward for me, giving less creative control to the user, and the new YouTube homepage which doesn't have the option of directing you straight to your subscription box without favouriting the specific page and using that link to go home. And obviously basically anything involving Google+ was pretty much a step backwards for YouTube.

Also, my YouTube is back now too

Actually, my tablet's Youtube app has been acting hinky since I got home. Don't know if it's working yet or not, but I thought I'd add in to the "ahnahmahyootoobsdead" conversation.

Hmmm...Is it just me, or is the player a little less annoying than before the monkeys were dispatched?

I've noticed that they've stopped playing with my volume settings, but I don't know if they actually fixed the problem or not.

I stopped using Youtube earlier this year [account wise only which I myself deleted] I just now like to enjoy watching videos on it instead of commenting.

I never even used to read or take notice of my comments that much anyway.

I never had the time to keep track on my account. Google+ is basically just a Facebook rip-off, Google will ignore us all and this will probably happen anyway, causing a loss to millions of their supporters and users, hee hee hee.

Oh my gosh, there's that guide panel that pops up to the left of anything you do on Google now, to access your subs/favorites/uploads/etc, and in Opera (I haven't tried in anything else as it's my main/favorite browser) the stupid guide thing opens automatically partway through videos and covers a portion of everything, and I have to  manually close it. every. time. It's on every page of the website, but is only covers things when I'm watching videos, otherwise it just shifts everything over to the right a bit, and makes everything lag a bit.

Lame.I really am disliking the recent changes on "Youtube+" lul. Grumble grumble Newtube is lame let's use YouTube classic.

For some reason, I can still comment, because I have a Google+ account. But... What? I don't remember ever having a Google+ in the first place!
