    Sonic Loses to Cloud in Great Character Battle II

    Sonic takes the fall and is defeated...

    After getting to the final eight in an impressive run of wins, Sonic has lost to Final Fantasy VII's Cloud Strife in the GameFAQs Character Battle II, on a very unimpressive voting of 71,651 to 36,571. The blue blur is now out of the running, and no more Sonic characters are left standing in the fan poll.

    Sonic did make it a round more then last year, which shines a light for next summer's big tournament. Below is a look at the wins/losses of Sonic and the gang. After seeing this, you'll find that it was a very impressive run by the Sonic Gang (minus Tails).

    Sonic The Hedgehog:
    Win Vs. Ken 33,146 - 73,484

    Knuckles The Echidna:

    Meh.

    There shouldn't even BE a Character Battle III next year for GameFAQs - it's obvious the whole lot are Final Fantasy fanboys. If the CB was held on an unbiased gaming site (i.e. IGN) no doubt Sonic would get further than he has.

    Looks like the final fight will be against Cloud and Sephiroth, two RPG one-hit wonders I believe. Proves Dread's point above, only RPG characters will win in that tournament, beating legends who shoulda won by a mile.

    OK, that does it. I have an opinion to preach. I've played all the Sonic games - including Adventures, Advances and the Knuckles add-on. I also managed to play Final Fantasy 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. And to be honest, most of the FF series is a bit dullard - but FFVII is the best game I have ever played. bar none. I suppose none of you anti-"FF-fanboys" ever played FFVII? Thought not. Or maybe it was TOO HARD! :cry_2003:

    Screw it. I look forward to the day when Sonic and Cloud join forces against a Eggman/Sephiroth combo. Wait... *loads up Multimedia Fusion* I can create that game!
