Xbox Phantasy Star Online Players in Japan Finally Getting New Content

Japanese Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II players on Xbox are finally set to receive some fresh online content from Sonic Team, with new Battle and Challenge scenarios being made available as well as a method to exchange Photon Drops.

Online servers for the game went into maintenance at 9am Thursday, May 29 Japan Time, and since things have come back up Xbox players have been treated to the following new scenarios:

Battle Rule 4:
Area: Temple
Rule: Most Meseta Wins
Setup: Level 1, use what you find.

Battle Rule 5
Area: Temple
Rule: Most Meseta Wins
Setup: Keep level, equipment, items. Teams. Note: No mags allowed.

Battle Rule 6
Area: Spaceship
Rule: Most Kills Wills
Setup: Level 20, use what you find. Final level: 50. Teams

Challenge Mode 7
Stages: 31-35

Challenge Mode 8
Stages: 36-40

Challenge Mode 9
Stages: 41-46

The online quest "Gallon's Shop" has also been updated to facilitate the exchange of the Photon Drops, so players now have something to do with them.

This information comes from PSO World, who notes that the changes have only been made for the Japanese version of PSO Episode I & II on Xbox, and since online play is region-locked, this content is currently unavailable for US and European players. If that changes any time soon, we'll let you know.
