  • Sonic Returns to Fall Guys With New Dr Eggman and Super Sonic Character Costumes

The game's gone free-to-play too so it's even easier to get on board.

Sonic the Hedgehog has come back to multiplayer game Fall Guys, and this time around the selection of wacky bean costumes based on Sonic, Tails and Knuckles are available for players on multiple game platforms. Not only that, but Dr. Eggman and Super Sonic also appears to have joined the disaster party.

Fall Guys developer Mediatonic announced the re-collaboration earlier today with the above image and the phrase, "i can't believe this is happening, sonic and knuckles are coming back and this time they're bringing BUDDIES (kinda)". Quite.

We've covered the release of the SonicTails and Knuckles costumes when they were originally released for the PS4-only release of the game, but now that Fall Guys is available as a free-to-play title on Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC too, it offers a fresh chance for non-PlayStation owners to get in on the SEGA action.

This is also the first time we've seen a Dr. Eggman and Super Sonic costume, and they look just as adorable as the Triple Threat outfits.

A photo of the game's microtransaction store (published by a Twitter user) suggests the rollout for the new skins, as well as the pricing for each. The Sonic costumes will be available from 11th August until 16th August, costing 800 Show Bucks each. You can get a pair of costumes for a bit of a discount, but Super Sonic and a special emote will need to be purchased solo whatever you do.

We're looking forward to seeing a hundred Eggmen run around the colourful world of Fall Guys very soon! Let us know what you think of the costumes in the comments below!

I forgot that there was a previous Sonic Central.

With that aside, I might try it out. I have Fall Guys on my switch so this will be on my radar.

Nice, recently passed 1000 crowns on Fall Guys so I should be relatively ready to do this one quickly.

All of the Costumes and the new Sonic Emote, including the Sonic & Knuckles Costumes that were available before Fall Guys became Free to Play, now cost Show-Bucks.

Show-Bucks is a new currency that requires real money to get. It is possible to get 1,000 free Show Bucks but you'd have to complete the entire 100 Tier Prize List (and possibly need a Season Pass unless you're a veteran player). Even then, you won't have enough to get everything.

If you already have both the top and bottom parts of the Sonic & Knuckles Costumes before the game became Free to Play, you're good. If you only have half of the Costume, you'll have to pay less Show-Bucks for the other half of the Costume (I believe it's 400 Show-Bucks...).

So you have the Sonic & Knuckles Costume, you'll need 2,400 Show-Bucks to unlock the Tails Costume, Eggman Costume, Super Sonic Costume, and "You're Too Slow" Emote.

If you have none of the Sonic Costumes, you'll need 3,600 Show-Bucks to get everything.

    Show-Bucks Bundle Costs (US dollars)

    • $8 = 1,000 Show-Bucks
    • $20 = 2,800 Show-Bucks (+12%) = 3,136 Show-Bucks
    • $32 = 5,000 Show-Bucks (+25%) = 6,250 Show-Bucks
    • $80 = 13,500 Show-Bucks (+35%) = 13,500 Show-Bucks
