  • 'Sonic Bowling' is the Next Sonic Cafe Mobile Game, Landing July 22

SEGA announces new Sonic game for DoCoMo i-Mode phones in Japan.

Sonic might be fighting Eggman on home consoles, but on Japanese mobile phones he's having all sorts of fun. Following the release of a Golf, Tennis, Fishing and Billiards game, SEGA is launching a Bowling application for DoCoMo i-Mode phones featuring everyone's favourite blue blur.

SEGA is particularly proud of the graphics behind this one, with a 'deep' 3D perspective allowing for some intense bowling action. The game will support up to four players competing in wireless play and will feature several Sonic characters including Tails, Knuckles and Shadow. You can see their butts in the screenshot below there.

Like past games before it, Sonic Bowling will be made available to subscribers of the 'Sonic Cafe' game service, which currently costs ¥300 ($3) a month. It'll be released to Java-compatible phones on July 22.
