LEGO Eggman Invades Sonic Forces Mobile

You better be careful if you open your Sonic Forces app on your phone today... because the dastardly LEGO Dr. Eggman has taken over the entire game!

As part of the SEGA HARDlight game's 4.91.0 update, the theming of the home page and various UI elements have been changed to reflect the villainous brick's visage, right down to scrawling his infamous Eggman logo across Tails' face with spraypaint.

Of course, you can collect LEGO Eggman as a playable character during this evil phase. As with all special characters, you need to gather 300 character cards in order to unlock him. You can also run AGAINST the mad scientist in races too - defeating him and coming 1st or 2nd will net you a Challenger Chest with some special items inside.

But beware! Other gameplay changes have been made as well - such as "increased badnik infantry on track by 1000%", "all in-game music [replaced] with Eggman Rap", "All your Gold Rings belong to the Egg-conomy" and "Instantly lost trophies if you choose Sonic". We're not sure how serious some of these are, but just for the sake of argument let's maybe go with picking Shadow for a few runs, huh?

The official Sonic social media channel also promoted the occasion with the above adorable image. Although it's less threatening and more like... it kinda just looks like LEGO Eggman is kindly looking on as his boy LEGO Sonic runs for the very first time. Gentle, fatherly vibes. I don't think that's what LEGO Eggman was going for, but we like it all the same.

The LEGO Eggman event runs until August 1st. Get cracking!
