This month's commemorative art piece from Sonic Channel is appropriately spooky given the time of year it is, with a new drawing of the emotionless and haunting Tails Doll representing the 26th Anniversary of Sonic R.

The description on the official Sonic Channel social media account points out the Tails Doll's "adorable figure and jet black eyes"... I think what Sonic Team means to say here is "soul-piercing stare". At least we agree that the characters' look is quite 'captivating'... but no! That's how it gets you! Stay away!

While we try to not look directly at the Tails Doll picture above, let's celebrate the 26th Anniversary of Sega Saturn classic, Sonic R! A machine-translated version of the official Sonic post accompanying this artwork can be found below.

I loved Sonic R as a kid! It was short, but still a great game to me! I was not much into Tails Doll, though, but he was cool in a way.

Pretty cute for Tails Doll, you know...

Edit: Wait, Tails Doll is "her"? Or it's just Google translate?

I understand that Google Translate is notoriously error-prone when it comes to translating pronouns, so - probably.

Japanese does not have gendered second-person pronouns, in those cases the translator picks the pronoun that seems most probable.

I like the art style.

I was confused about it too, actually. I ended up not thinking so, and Google Translate is flawed. There is also this thing Starry Skydancer said.
