I'm pretty sure it's entirely possibly to just KO the Red Gyrados and continue the story just fine, so it's anyone's guess whether they'll even capture that much as far as shinies are concerned.

Seriously, though, I'm surprised it didn't take longer. Probably would've taken longer if democracy mode wasn't a thing.

Stayed quite late last night to see if they'll beat the elite four plus Blue and of course I go to sleep thinking it wouldn't be done that night and figures they do. Congrats to anyone who participated, that was quite a feat.

 

Those "a" commands were strong towards the end.

So...I don't know if anyone noticed, but  Zapdos was Lv. 81 at the end of the battle.

 

 

Ya know, the same level as Red's Pikachu in the next set of games......and I will leave that to your imaginations.

For me it was not only the fact that we even managed to beat this game to begin with, but the lore built around this let's play was so... Interesting. It hooked me up and made me feel for Red and his friends and it was all made on the fly (not to mention that we somehow got thousands of people to adjust their head canons and agree about what was going on), and like some people said across this thread if you were to tell someone about this story it's kinda hard to believe that it wasn't scripted, that 100k people somehow managed to give this mons character and that each of the important members of the party got their moment to shine.

 

* From Abby who despite being a fire type that couldn't spew a single ounce of flame fought bravely next us.

 

* To Jay Leno who kept taking the hits while Red tried to coordinate the voices.

 

* To Abba who stepped in, took the leadership of the team and became the champion we needed (special mention goes to his very unconventional "signature move" that let him vanquish ghosts)

 

* To Dux who looked to me like a bird who admired Abba and tried his best to be like him, he got his moments of badassery (stalling a freaking Onyx and beating up Pokemons by leering them) and earned the love of the watchers.

 

* To Cabbage, who felt like the only non-combat oriented team member, she was still with us and helped us as much as she could (I like to think she was the team mom)

 

* To Digrat, the trolling bastard that ruined hours of progress for his own amusement, but fought for us when things looked grim.

 

* To The Keeper, who making honor to his namesake gave his life twice to hold back the forces of evil, first the (falsely accused as an) enemy Flareon and last to the true evil of this realm.

 

* To Eevee, who received nothing but hate across his short journey (but at the end his Domecracy teachings were a handy tool). He took all our hatred and pretended to be our common enemy, because that's what he was told to do, and he pulled it off.

 

* To Rick Gastly, a lonely ghost who has given a nice home to live in and never gave us up, nor let us down, nor ran around and desert us (like we kinda did :V)

 

* To ATV and Fonz, both members of a numerous family caught in Safari Zone. Pokemons who no one expected much of when they were caught, but at the end (after the purge of many of their familiars as a bonus sad background story we got to see) they stepped in and proved their worth like true champions.

 

* To Air, who was given to us as a baby and fought through battles a child wouldn't be expected to fight (even getting some wins against Giovanni). She might have been one of the weakest members of our party physically speaking, but her courage was on the same tier as the rest of the team.

 

* To Double AA, who was a legendary mon minding his own business and didn't seem too interested in helping us even after being caught, but in the end he learned to trust and respect the team and lord Helix's teachings and became our big guy who brute forced our way through the Elite 4.

 

* To Lord Helix, a true symbol of the progress that this clusterfuck of people managed to accomplish.

 

* And lastly to Red, who after fighting and suffering for so long, will finally find peace (No surprise he exiled himself on mt Silver after hearing the voices for weeks).

 

 

 

 

I can hardly believe we even managed to create such a likeable bunch and makes me feel kinda weird about the idea of having to fight them in G/S/C. The fact Bill is a little involved in all of this almost makes me think we are going for a downer ending in Kanto, but only time will tell...
