  1. We're just 8 days away from the Paramount Plus premiere of a new Sonic cinematic universe spin-off TV series featuring Knuckles the Echidna. Marketing's in full swing now, and we've been gradually getting to see some footage from the series that will be taking place between Sonic Movie 2 and Sonic Movie 3. In fact, we got to see another clip from the show, courtesy of Rotten Tomatoes! The exclusive clip is only a minute long, but it does provide a general idea of the show. Maddie, Sonic and Tails are seen in the video. Meanwhile, Knuckles is training a dog to become a Echidna warrior. Of course, none of this is that surprising. At the end of Sonic Movie 2, Knuckles was only beginning to adjust to a new life on the planet, and the new clip is making it clear that said adjustments continue to be a work-in-progress. Nevertheless, we also know that Knuckles isn't just adjusting to life on the new planet he's now a part of. He's also giving deputy sheriff Wade Whipple some Echidna warrior training. The entire plot arc will be taking place over the course of 6 episodes, all of which will be available to watch on Paramount Plus when the series debuts next week, on April 26th. That all said, it's not out of the realm of possibility that there might be some hints towards where things may go with the third Sonic movie, which releases this December. As stated earlier, this series takes place between Sonic Movie 2 and Sonic Movie 3. It may not be anything major, but if there was a time to offer a small preview to what fans may be able to look forward to when Sonic the Hedgehog 3 arrives, this would be a good time to do so! Via Rotten Tomatoes Sonic News Tips Credit: Shiny Gems Original Post Content: I can see why this would be a-dog-eat-dog world now. Lol. I wonder why they are on the roof though? Whatever the reason, this may be interesting in a way. View full story

  3. Tonight, Paramount held a special press event to celebrate the upcoming launch of its Sonic movie spinoff TV series, 'Knuckles'. A gaggle of press and media were invited to London's Leicester Square, the bustling home of movie premieres, to experience a segment of the show - and maybe catch a glimpse of megastar Idris Elba in the process. We would have gone to this ourselves, but it seems that someone at Paramount lost our invite in the mail, or accidentally fed it to their dog or something. Oh well, there's always next time! In the meantime, check out some cool photos from the event below. Photo by 'MoZoneMo' Attendees got to experience a portion of the six-hour episodic adventure in the best way possible - with a massive cinema screen! You can see an image above to get a sense of the scale here. There were also opportunities to meet and greet with certain special guests, as well as a wandering Knuckles mascot that posed for photos! Photo by 'philthecool' Of course, it wouldn't have been much of a premiere without the man of the hour present. Idris Elba, famed actor and voice of Knuckles the Echidna, took the time to hit the red carpet and engage in some interviews with the press. Elba seemed in quite good spirits throughout the entire event - it's clear that he had a lot of fun working on this project with Paramount. Photo by 'ItsJesseGomez' Knock, knock, it's Knuckles (& Knuckles)! The voice of the new porcupine on the block with the buff chest, standing alongside the actual echidna himself. Knuckles (the red one) also had a lot of fun mincing about the venue, taking photos with cast, crew and attendees alike. There was nowhere this echidna wouldn't go to photobomb - he truly had an all-access pass for the event! Photo by 'Sergi_ND' Finally, as attendees were getting ready to sit down and enjoy the show inside, the press were still scrambling for photos with the cast and crew - and one eagle-eyed watcher managed to catch the moment where Adam Pally (Wade Whipple) gave Idris Elba a loving embrace on the red carpet. You can also see Sonic movie director Jeff Fowler present. All in all, it looked like the premiere was a whole lot of fun! Did you attend the event, or know someone who did? Feel free to share your photos here with your fellow Sonic fan and spread the excitement! Knuckles starts streaming on Paramount+ from April 26 (or April 27, if you live in the UK it seems).

  5. We may not have gotten a Shadow casting reveal at Cinemacon on Friday, but at least a few people know who he is...and who he isn't. Notable film critic John Campea revealed this much on his Youtube channel, where he was exceptionally vague about who would be playing the role. He gave two details: it's not Hayden Christensen (best known for his role as Anakin Skywalker), but it is someone "people will be happy about." You can catch a screenshot of his Youtube post below: If true, this simultaneously deconfirms a longtime fan casting, while confirming that the character has at least been cast, and that we're all just waiting on Paramount to reveal it. At least, as long as John Campea's sourcing is accurate. Although Campea appears to be quite reliable, he still isn't an official source, so we're treating this as a rumor. This news was originally brought to the community's attention by Twitter user @SlayDayz77.

  7. The first footage from Paramount's Sonic the Hedgehog 3 debuted behind closed doors at their Cinemacon panel earlier today. So far, they haven't released it publicly, but its contents have been described by press who attended the event. The trailer shows Jim Carrey's Dr. Robotnik in his lab. He's gained weight from binging carbohydrates, meaning cinematic Robotnik will finally get to be fat. Someone is quoted as saying "we found him," presumably referring to Shadow. The trailer also shows Robotnik recruiting Shadow, Shadow facing off against Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, and Sonic and Shadow fighting in the New York City skyline. Shadow also gets a motorbike. As of this writing, I'm still a little unsure how it all fits together, as these details are taken from multiple sources. Hopefully Paramount will show the footage soon. The sourced for this info can be found here, here, here, and here. No casting for Shadow was revealed, who apparently didn't talk in the trailer. Original Post Content: View full story
  8. Less spoilery than previous screenshots, but still mildly spoilery, probably. Don't be caught off guard! As the Knuckles series draws ever closer, a new poster and multiple screenshots have hit the internet. Though nothing is particularly revealing in these new shots, they do average together to form at least two complete chairs. Knuckles' makeshift "Iron" throne graces the official poster, first seen in screens from earlier this month, with the ever-present theme of bowling striking once again. Further, a series of new high-resolution screenshots, kindly shared by TailsChannel and Sonic Video Archive, highlight Wanda Whipple (played by Edi Patterson), further showing her as some manner of FBI agent (previously revealed in the initial trailer) with access to roughly one third of a chair. Paramount's Knuckles series premieres in a mere two weeks on Paramount+.

  11. The Knuckles TV series might just be round the corner, but Paramount has designs to leverage spinoff projects such as these to set up the Sonic movies to become 'Avengers-level' events. That's according to Sonic movie franchise and series producer Toby Ascher, who recently sat down with Paste Magazine to discuss the production of Knuckles and the aspirations he has in establishing a successful "Cinematic World of Sonic the Hedgehog." After revealing that the Knuckles show concept came about after the success of the Sonic 2 movie, Ascher added: Ascher also noted the excitement within the Paramount teams when they saw an opportunity to reference Sonic 3 & Knuckles' "Lock-on technology" by offering a standalone 'Knuckles' companion product to the upcoming mainline 'Sonic 3' movie, coming Winter 2024. "We also really, really liked the idea of going linearly through the games, and then in the third movie, being able to do a Sonic 3 and Knuckles super Easter egg," he said. The rest of the interview discusses Ascher's objective throughout Knuckles' production in making a smaller-scale TV production look and feel authentic alongside the major motion pictures ("We knew that if, all of a sudden, this looked like a rip off series or something that was really shoddily put together, not only will fans reject it, but it’ll damage what we’ve made"), and how the lean into "weird comedy" really benefits, thanks to the dynamic between Adam Pally and Idris Elba. You can read the rest of the interview right here. Original Post Content: View full story

  13. WARNING: Possible visual spoilers for the 'Knuckles' TV series below. Paramount has updated its media press portal with new screenshots of the upcoming 'Knuckles' TV show, due to hit streaming service Paramount+ on April 26. They highlight a few key beats from the six-episode series, including appearances from Sonic, Maddie Wachowski and a strange British character that seems to really enjoy bowling. The whole gallery is available at the bottom of this article, but we decided to highlight some choice images: Knuckles sitting on a thrown of tools and hardware accessories, in what appears to be Tom and Maddie Wachowski's house. Since the events of the Sonic 2 movie, the punchy echidna hangs around with Sonic and his human family, and we imagine the TV series is intended to focus on his place in the world. Apparently there will be brief appearances from Sonic, Tails and other characters from the movies peppered throughout the show, despite the focus on Knuckles. We love the above image as we can just imagine Knuckles trying to wrap his head around the concept of VR. In the show, Knuckles teams up with Green Hills deputy Wade Whipple as they... investigate crime? Do a buddy cop thing? I'm sure it'll all be explained in the first episode, but it leads to Knuckles deciding to train Wade to become a mighty warrior. Part of this, I imagine, leads to the above reference to E.T. The Extra Terrestrial, with Wade flying across the hills while riding on a gliding Knuckles. At some point, GUN agents get involved and as we can see here there is a successful attempt at a capture at some point in the show. Will Knuckles be able to escape himself, or will he need a hero? ... And will that hero actually be Wade, somehow? There are images in this press pack that show the bumbling cop tripping out with some kind of rainbow road running out of his mouth, as well as the above image where he is clearly 'honouring' Knuckles in the best possible way. And yes, it gets better. Because that screenshot is followed by the above image, which shows Wade (in Knuckles cosplay) running through a stage themed like a Sonic the Hedgehog level (given the background, looks like Angel Island, to be precise). He's on strings, like Pinocchio, so either he's doing some kind of high-level theatre performance or this is some weird dream sequence. As we've seen in many of the trailers, the show heavily leans on a bowling theme. Some big tournament happens in the local alley, and some of the images show some of the action from that tournament - including Wade wearing a 'Wade the Warrior' shirt. At some point, all hell breaks loose in the lanes, leading to the epic shot above. Aaaaaaand there's this little beauty. We just adore the Sonic 2006 reference here. Check out the full gallery of press images below - we were able to source the lower-quality versions ourselves via Paramount's Press Portal, but these high-quality versions were kindly shared with us by TailsChannel and Sonic Video Archive. Thanks guys! 'Knuckles' hits Paramount+ on April 26 - make sure you're subscribed to the service so you don't miss out!

  15. Even a mighty echidna warrior needs some entertainment now and again, and there is no better televised event than the WWE to bring Knuckles out of hiding and into the spotlight! Yes, to celebrate the upcoming release of Knuckles on Paramount+, Paramount Global has teamed up with the WWE to spread a bit of red onto today's NXT Stand And Deliver Pay Per View Event! Making his presence known on a Sonic Movie Instagram story, Knuckles arrives at the event alongside WWE superstar Dijak. Dijak himself posted a video of him sparring alongside Knuckles, showcasing a promotional arcade machine where you can hit a punching bag to score points. However, Dijak would rather show Knuckles' his true power in the ring... g5l9eWRvdugOqLv1.mp4 During the broadcast itself, Knuckles can be seen all over, from the ad breaks to the bleachers, even intruding in on ever-important commentary. He can even be seen posing with fans! While Knuckles can't stay around forever, he certainly made his mark in marketing his new show to the masses. If this is but a taste of how Paramount is marketing Sonic Movie content this year, only time can tell how crazy things will get when Sonic the Hedgehog 3 releases this December! tci09kBz-RUj7BEa.mp4 Knuckles starts streaming on Paramount+ April 26th.

  19. Now that filming is underway for the third Sonic the Hedgehog movie, we're going to be getting bits and pieces of the set, which is at Pinewood Studios in London, as this stage of the film's production continues. You don't want to expect anything significant, but they do offer a tiny bit of insight into how the movie's progressing and some hints as to what locations Sonic and friends may go to in the movie. That all said, a brief piece of set footage appeared on social media today! Now, I do want to stress that you don't want to expect anything significant. Leaks from the movie set are very rare, if at all, and you're more likely to find speculation of things than anything concrete. And even the stuff we do get will be very little bits and pieces here and there. This is no different, as the only thing we got was 4 seconds of footage from inside information that shows what seems to be a blue screen and some structures that have very dim lighting. There's really not much that can be interpreted from this. There is a blue screen, but obviously we won't be seeing that in the movie. And the structures aren't really easy to figure out either. The structures seem to be metallic and industrial in nature, and some fans are speculating that this may be related to the Space Colony ARK in some way. But it needs to be emphasized that this is just speculation. This isn't the first time we've gotten set footage, and it definitely won't be the last. However, since it's highly likely that the next Sonic Movie 3 trailer will have actual movie footage, this is probbaly going to be our main source of Sonic Movie 3 footage for a while. Nevertheless, Sonic Movie 3 premieres in theaters this December, so the wait won't really be for that long. Via Twitter Original Post Content: View full story
  20. 21. Though announced to premiere during the Super Bowl, we've got our Knuckles series trailer and the premiere date early! The six-episode series will be available on Paramount Plus on April 26 in the U.S. and Canada, April 27 in other regions, and "later in the year" in Japan. Check it out below: Building off of the previously revealed premise of Knuckles training Wade, the series appears to follow a restless Knuckles who can't quite shed his warrior's passion, traveling with Wade as they take on bikers, secret agents, mad inventors, and an entire bag of Doritos. Unsurprisingly, the trailer is stuffed with references and surprise appearances, from Knuckles' previously revealed OVA hat, to the spinning goal post, to... Pachacamac working in a bowling alley? What? The series definitely promises to be a mix of action and goofy, irreverent humor much as the movies were, but Idris Elba's Knuckles brings a different spirit to the lead character role compared to Ben Schwartz' Sonic. That said, both Sonic and Tails will make an appearance in the series, as does Tika Sumpter's Maddie. There's no indication that Jim Carrey's Robotnik will appear in this series, but his spirit looms over the story as at least one antagonist will have connection to Robotnik, perhaps a protege, employee, or supplier. Finally, Paramount revealed an official poster for the series. It won't tell you about the series, but if you want a detailed look at glove stitching, or just really need to look at Knuckles' shins. 23. Whether you're catching the upcoming Super Bowl for the football, the ads, the halftime show, or just the chips and drinks, expect to see one more long-awaited trailer premiering. Variety has revealed a list of the many films and shows that will feature during this this year's game, and Paramount's Knuckles series is among the lineup. This trailer follows several recent leaks including episode titles and scene storyboards (spoilers in both links). All that has been officially confirmed about the 6-episode series thus far has been members of its cast, and a rough (and likely incomplete) series premise, where Idris Elba's Knuckles trains comedy relief Wade Wipple (Adam Pally) as a warrior. The series was originally planned for 2023, but had been pushed back to 2024 after its June filming. Knuckles will appear among many, many Paramount projects either premiering or merely advertising at this year's Super Bowl, with Paramount themselves holding the broadcast and streaming rights to the football game. If you want to catch the trailer at its earliest, the Super Bowl begins this Sunday, February 11, at at 6:30 PM, ET or 9:30 PM PT, on CBS affiliates, Paramount+ streaming, and NFL streaming. 25. https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/knuckles-series-paramount-plus-cast-adam-pally-tika-sumpter-sonic-the-hedgehog-1235584850/ Seems like things are finally under way for this series, wonder how long production will be? I assume we'll probably start hearing more about this as the year progresses.
