  • Knuckles Paramount Series Premieres April 26, Trailer Out Now

"I do not make jokes, I make warriors."

Though announced to premiere during the Super Bowl, we've got our Knuckles series trailer and the premiere date early! The six-episode series will be available on Paramount Plus on April 26 in the U.S. and Canada, April 27 in other regions, and "later in the year" in Japan. Check it out below:

Building off of the previously revealed premise of Knuckles training Wade, the series appears to follow a restless Knuckles who can't quite shed his warrior's passion, traveling with Wade as they take on bikers, secret agents, mad inventors, and an entire bag of Doritos.

Unsurprisingly, the trailer is stuffed with references and surprise appearances, from Knuckles' previously revealed OVA hat, to the spinning goal post, to... Pachacamac working in a bowling alley? What?

The series definitely promises to be a mix of action and goofy, irreverent humor much as the movies were, but Idris Elba's Knuckles brings a different spirit to the lead character role compared to Ben Schwartz' Sonic. That said, both Sonic and Tails will make an appearance in the series, as does Tika Sumpter's Maddie. There's no indication that Jim Carrey's Robotnik will appear in this series, but his spirit looms over the story as at least one antagonist will have connection to Robotnik, perhaps a protege, employee, or supplier.

Finally, Paramount revealed an official poster for the series. It won't tell you about the series, but if you want a detailed look at glove stitching, or just really need to look at Knuckles' shins.

I wonder what day this is gonna release to the UK version of Paramount Plus considering that it's coming to the US Paramount Plus April 26.

That was a fun trailer. I’m pretty excited for this. The other echidna is odd but, yeah, at the moment I’m thinking it’s a hallucination of some sort. Neat to see how they’re continuing and using the idea of drawing energy from the quills.

Okay, this looks fun. Shame I don’t have Paramount+.

Knuckles on a motorcycle with his OVA hat goes hard.

But if Knuckles is allowed to ride a motorcycle, does that mean that Shadow…?

Not gonna lie, Knuckles on a motorcycle in this universe before Shadow does...I didn't see coming.

Yeah...I'm wondering about this. Since it seems Perfect Chaos didn't happen in this universe, I do wonder how this is gonna go. Which also begs the Tikal question, but I think that might be going deeper than it needs to be.

OMG!!! Knuckles series in April 26?! That is so cool. Also, Pachacamac working in a bowling alley? That is so weird but funny to be honest.

But...in the 2nd movie it's implied the Echidnas died on that day, while Knuckles stayed behind.

This series looks great. Cannot wait. So many references and callbacks. Wonder who the main big bad is too?? Psml if its "Grimer"

Plus more sonic and tails too! Winner!

Given the context and the general tone of the movies, I can at least make a reasonably confident speculation on Pachacamac.

The decimation of the echidnas in the series (and hence Knuckles' rivalry with Sonic) was due to their battle for the Chaos Emeralds with the owls. Decent chance they opted to have Pachacamac live during Knuckles' lifetime in this, and probably escaped to Earth in shame of his loss.

I wouldn't be surprised if he briefly becomes a point of self-reflection for Knuckles, particularly on his inability to turn off his whole warrior deal.

I think Pachacamac is just a hallucination. I mean, what you said makes sense, and I would like it if it were true, but considering he is an alien, I am not sure he would be able to get past the government so easily before working at a bowling alley, if you know what I mean.

Villian does seem to fit the bill for grimer.

Pachamamac and daughter being alive would give the movieverse a way to cheat with echidna mentor and female echidna without setting off you-know-who.

Totally expecting Pachamac to be a hallucination or communicating with Knuckles from some sort of afterlife to guide him at certain points.

Don't underestimate Paramount's willingness to just be goofy with this series.

Okay, if you say so. I was just trying to apply logic here.

Don't know what to think of the villain until I actually watch the show. But from what I can tell, he has virtually no connection to the games. Just sayin', there are other game villains besides Eggman himself:

That doesn’t count. Eggman Nega looks too much like Eggman.

….Nah, I’m just kidding around me here!
