Sonic's official Japanese social media account has released a new piece of artwork to mark the 22nd anniversary of Sonic Adventure 2 - featuring an iconic Shadow the Hedgehog x Chaos Emerald pose.
"This month's commemorative illustration series [art piece] features artwork from Sonic Adventure 2, which is celebrating its 22nd anniversary this year," the Sonic Channel post reads (machine translated). "It marks the debut of Shadow the Hedgehog, a black hedgehog who closely resembles Sonic! The unforgettable scene where Shadow confronted Sonic for the first time and activated Chaos Control is still vivid in our memories."
The artwork, provided by the official Sonic Channel creative team, continues the monthly trend of spotlighting anniversaries of past Sonic games. Previous entries in the series included Mighty posting with an arcade cabinet for SEGASonic the Hedgehog, and Sonic rowing in a barrel for Sonic Spinball - featuring games that are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year.
