Teoskaven was awarded the badge 'Great Content' and 30 points.

Here we go again:

*Vengeance is Mine - Radical Highway (Sonic Adventure 2)
*Virtual Reality - Supporting Me (Sonic Forces)
*Undefeatable (Sonic Frontiers)
*Valkyria's Awakening (Valkyria Chronicles)
*Remix: Kingdom Valley -Water- (Sonic 06) by Sillvagunner
*Wild Card: Chaos by Jacaris [Friday Night Funkin’: Vs Sonic.EXE]

While i normally don't choose a number 1 favourite Sonic track above everything else, i tend to keep in high regard the original version of Supporting Me from Adventure 2 due to its thematic relevance and how it sounds very different from preceding tracks, especially those tied to Shadow.

Alright, time for my own song selections!

Song 1: Quartz Quadrant (Sonic CD JP)

Song 2: Tidal Tempest (Sonic CD US)

Song 3: Un-Gravitify (Electro Ver.) (Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity)

Song 4: Blood Flow - Knuckles Mvt. (Sonic Frontiers - Paths Revisited)

Remix: Team Select - SilentDreams Mix (Sonic Heroes)

Wild Card: Radical Highway (Sonic X Shadow Generations Ver.)

As for my favourite song, it's honestly hard to nail down for me, there's so many picks that I have, and they shift around so frequently. There's times where my favourite is Open Your Heart. Other times where it could be Knight of the Wind.

I suppose the two I could closest nail down is Un-Gravitify, which I personally think is just a genuinely fantastic track that is really unlike Sonic. It's rare to see full blown electronic music in the series, and I love how up-beat and energetic Un-Gravitify is, and it extends to the other versions too. Honestly, it's frankly the one song I think Crush 40 didn't do very great because I thought the rock version moved away from what I liked so much about it.

My other pick is Dear, My Friend from Sonic Unleashed, which I think is just a really good, if not bittersweet capper to the World Adventure, and a rare moment of both a thematic song, and one that ended a Sonic game on a less positive note, the song acting as a brilliant recollection of Chip's adventure across the planet, learning to love what he was destined to protect, albeit with the now sombre note that Chip has now had to seal himself away to keep guard over Dark Gaia again. It was honestly this song alone that made me want to 100% Unleashed a few years back.

Cuz was awarded the badge 'Great Content' and 20 points.

North Wind Sonic the Fighters

Sonic X: Natsu No Hi

Sonic Adventure: It doesn't Matter

Sonic Heroes: Follow Me

Remix Zone: Time Trials Chi-Chi

Wild Card: King of the Ring

Lets Go! I like Chi-Chi's Time Trials the most because of the word play and soft rock, or is it pop? Without the lyrics the song's just cutesy to me, but I follow the song better with a rhyme scheme.

Shiny Gems was awarded the badge 'Great Content' and 20 points.

Here are mine.

Zero the Chase-Master (Sonic Adventure)

One Way Dream (Sonic Frontiers)

Throw It All Away (Sonic Adventure 2) (For the Fearless Year of Shadow)

Funky Brothers (SING!! Sega Game Music)

Remix: Mission (Super Sonic Racing) (Sonic Generations)

Wildcard: Look-A-Like (KB Remix) ft. PAiDA

Would the last one count as a Wild Card?

EDIT: My favorite Sonic song would have to be Undefeatable from Sonic Frontiers. It is such a banger, and I love how it sounds as well as the lyrics. I was going to suggest that, but someone beat me to it.

Here we go again huh? Let me pick my tunes for this year.

1. I'm Here (Sonic Frontiers Paths Revisited)

2. Perfect Chaos Phase 2 (Sonic Generations)

3. Sonic's Theme (Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog)

4. Throw It All Away (Sonic at the Olympic Games)

Remix Radical Highway Cover (Sonic Adventure 2)

Wildcard: Stardust Speedway Bad Future Gametal Cover (Sonic CD)

For favourite song, has to be a toss up between Solaris Phase 2 and Radical Highway. Radical Highway just captures that raw edge of Shadow, how he's here and he's gonna impress. The image of Shadow grinding down the bridge with that riff is legendary. Its come back time and again and is due for some new versions which makes me happy.

As for Solaris Phase 2, its just beautiful. His World has been there through the whole game and now its built up so much its become this grand sweep. It just sells the epicness of the fight, the feel that you can save the future and end this. No song sends chills down me like it. The orchestra feel made it amazing, wish we'd here this version in the Symphony (though the original is a good listen to of course).

The Wild Card is simply if you want another remix, or a regular song, so it counts.

Don't forget to do a write up on your favourite Sonic song though so you don't miss out on the Maria tier of prizes.

Oops! My bad!

This may be a more recent Sonic song, but I would go with Undefeatable from Sonic Frontiers.

Song 1: What I'm Made Of (Sonic Heroes) - Crush 40

Song 2: Rusty Ruin Zone - Act 1  (Sonic 3D Blast - Mega Drive Ver) - Jun Senoue

Song 3: Who I Am (Shadow the Hedgehog (Unused track)) - Magna-Fi

Song 4: Ending 2 (Shining Force CD) - Motoaki Takenouchi

Remix: The Doomsday (Sonic & Knuckles) - Overclocked ReMix (SnappleMan, Ashane, norg)

Wild Card: Weight of the World (Sonic Omens) - John Rise and Bentley Jones

Honestly, the ReMix tracks were real hard. I wanted to put some old Sonic Zone tracks from like 11/10 years ago. Trash FM is still godly. It has to be pipped by the Project Chaos offering tho, that album was the first real community music project I stumbled upon when getting internet of my own and exploring.

If we're allowing general SEGA, I'ma have to put in SFCD somewhere. Outside of Sonic, this game was it for me growing up.

Tried to go for a wide variety of stuff here, but honestly, I'm just mega tired of C40 stuff in general, and since I finished Sonic Omens forever ago, I've had Weight of the World on more than most other Sonic songs.

If we talk about favourites, even though I am burnt out on C40, I'd say Knight of the Wind is up there. I still think the art style and design of the trailer for Black Knight is one of the best they've done. Fun fact, I wanted to try to mimic it for one Race for Good once upon a time and the acoustic version with no lyrics is just gorgeous for background noise.

Spoiler

You Just Gave a Mouse a Cookie :goof:

1. [Crush 40] - Never Turn Back (Closing Theme of Shadow the Hedgehog)

With the faint, comforting Piano at the start, comes the heavy metal and electric guitar to symbolize the strong presence that is Shadow The Hedgehog. As a character, he is tremendously relatable, and this song just speaks for itself! It portrays his rough journey, trying to figure out his very own identity (Like any other teen); if he was real, or just a mere android. and you can just feel it in this song. the name itself "Never Turn Back" Signifies to me that, what's done is done, and you can't, nor shouldn't go back to the painful past, and just walk away victorious. leave it in ashes, and awaken a firey Pheinox, ready to take on anything that hiders you.

2. [Smooth4Lyfe] - Wild style Pisolero

This feels right for me. I've always liked the song, but this remix feels like a Return-To-Form Song for a Return-To-Form Game. If you told me this was a song in SA1/2, I'd believe you off the bat. Strangely, I didn't find this on my 770+ Songlist, but that is getting added. The Desert is such a good theme for Sonic, and it's unexplainable how well it always translated into every Sonic game! Speaking of Mirage Saloon, This is one of the most creative Zones I've had the delight to run in! And to think they got all that, from a tiny screenshot of Desert Dazzle. Crazy, Right?

3. [Chi-Chi] - Friends by Hyperpotions (Lyrical Adaptation)

I could cry trying to type out what this song means to me. it really digs deep in my heart how energetic and fast this song is! maybe it's how relatable it is for me, but the overlaying theme of "Don't be afraid be be you; you have friends by your side" is such a beautiful revelation, every time I hear it. after all the times of loneliness and people not knowing my identity, Making new friends who relate to me is something that always cheers me up! All the expectations I have to live up to weights me down, but with friends (Or alone by myself), I don't feel that way. they don't expect anything from me, just me. before I get all teary-eyed, I'll stop here :chuckle:

Spoiler

I'm Not sure if the last one is acceptable, given it's not a remix per' say, or a official song, so here are some Replacements!

  • Metallic Madness 1
  • Casino Night Zone
  • Metal Sonic Remix [Kamex]
  • Sky Chase Zone [Yuzuboy]
  • Credits - Sonic 2

but wait, what about the "Wild Card" thing? in the Post, it says:

1 hour ago, Ryannumber1gamer said:

So, as previously mentioned above - the premise of this event is pretty simple - every single member who participates has six song requests, which is divided as such:

  • 4 Regular Songs (Example - Open Your Heart, Grand Metropolis, Green Hill Zone)
  • 1 Remix Song (Example - Stardust Speedway Bad Future - GaMetal Mix
  • 1 Wild Card - which you can use to either pick an additional regular request, or a additional remix request.

did I gloss over something? my sincerest apologies, I tend to read fast :arigato:

No, the wild card is fine - the issue is that you can't submit two songs for the same list, since we're trying to keep it fair so one person can't just dominate the list with their requests.

As for the other songs, I'll use these if it's fine with you:

  • Metallic Madness Act 1
  • Credits (Sonic 2)

You'll need to add an additional regular request to make up the total of six, since again - in the list, it's using multiple songs from the same game list. Make sure to specify the version too (IE - Sonic 2 Genesis or Master System).

Winston was awarded the badge 'Great Content' and 50 points.

Here are my song choices for this year, let me know if anything needs fixing.

Song 1: Sonic Adventure - Twinkle Cart

Song 2: Sonic Adventure 2 - For True Story

Song 3: Sonic Heroes - This Machine

Song 4: Sonic Unleashed - Empire City (Night)

Remix: Sonic Colors Ultimate - Frigate Showdown

Wild Card: SEGA Bass Fishing - Feel the Heat

And my favorite Sonic song of all time? Man, that's a hard choice. It probably goes back and forth a lot, but for now, I think I'll go with Endless Possibility. I typically don't go with vocal tracks as my favorites, I typically prefer the instrumental stuff, but this song just really gets my hyped. I think it fits Sonic and the game it comes from perfectly. Sonic Unleashed took a while to grow on me, but it's hard not to love Endless Possibility, I always have. I also really enjoyed how back then, the Sonic final boss music were remixes of the main vocal theme of the game. It's a nice full circle thing, and makes Endless Possibility stick out even more for that reason. Probably a hot take too, I'm not the largest fan of the Crush 40 vocal tracks for the games. I typically like when other people come in and do the music.

I hope that all satisfies everything! Looking forward to this.

Mhh, i didn't read the list, nor the rules pertaining to said list, I'm sorry 😅 In that case, it's such a tough choice! either a fire track I just listened to today, or a lifelong song that got me through personal troubles... (Please be patent with me, I'm kinda bum-rushing into this)

here's my new list, now that I read the rules:

Spoiler
  1. Never Turn Back (ShTH)
  2. Friends Lyrical Adaptation (Mania)
  3. Speed Jungle Zone Act 1 (Superstars)
  4. Scrap Brain Zone - Synthwave Remix (Sonic 1 Genesis) [Vital Wave] (Sonic 1)
  5. Metal Sonic Fight (Forces)
  6. Hydrocity Zone 2 (Sonic 3)

I hope my 15-minute long paragraphs get booted for this, I really want that Prize!

AW, YEAH! I couldn't wait for this event!

Regular:

1. Endless Possibility

2. Rooftop Run

3. I Am All Of Me

4. Friends

Remix:

Green Hill Zone, by Blue Brew Music

Wild Card:

Music Plant Zone

My Favorite Music:

It's very hard to pick one, but my favorite instrumental zone track is Music Plant. It is very silly and peppy and made me love Sonic Advance 2 even more! The World Adventure, Starlight Zone or Stardust Speedway are in tie for second place! The World Adventure is orchestrated and it gave me goosebumps, but not like any other piece. I can't describe it. Thinking about it makes the goosebumps come again! Starlight zone reminds me of a sweet evening at a retro arcade. Which is one of my favorite places to be! Stardust Speedway just makes me feel good, you know. I like it's futuristic funkiness, and it's fast aesthetic!

If you're talking about Lyrical, It's gotta be Endless Possibility! It's a beautiful song, it makes me feel uplifted and also reminds me that I have Endless Possibilities to choose from. Undefeatable also is a pretty good song, with it's powerhouse percussion, and crazy lyrics. I praise Kellin Quinn's vocal chords a lot! Reach for the Stars is not a song, it's one of my dreams, to reach for the stars, metaphorically and literally, and be the most Ultimate Version of me that I can be, so that I can find out who I am. And that brings me to I am all of me and Never turn back! They fit Shadow, and I feel would become very iconic if Shadow the Hedgehog did well! I am all of me shows that Shadow just knows that he is existing and can't really go into the details on who he is, but Never turn back symbolizes that he learned and found his purpose.

Dangerous Disguise CC14 was awarded the badge 'Great Content' and 50 points.

Song 1: Knight of the Wind (Sonic and the Black Knight)

Song 2: Collection Room - Door into Summer (Sonic Generations)

Song 3: The Chosen One (Shadow the Hedgehog)

Song 4: All Hail Shadow (Sonic the Hedgehog 2006)

Remix: Fastest Thing Alive (Johnny Gioeli and Chewie)

Wild Card: Super Mario Land Medley (Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games)

As for my favorite Sonic song, as you could no doubt guess if you compare this list of song choices to the one I submitted for the last event, that'd be Knight of the Wind. It's just such a plain badass song and NOTHING gets me pumped up faster than the "I WILL BRING YOU PAIN AND FEAAAAAAAAAAR" part. Crush 40 saw whole SatBK's Arthurian lore theming and crafted the PERFECT track for it, mixing Sonic's usual rock sound with a more epic, mythical tone. I just can't get enough of it.

Song 1: Jeh Jeh Rocket (Sonic Rush)

Song 2: Cyber Track (Act 1) (Sonic Advance 3)

Song 3: Aquatic Time (Sonic Riders Zero Gravity)

Song 4: Central City (Sonic Battle)

Remix: Whisker & Johnny Boss Theme (Electro Swing Remix) - (Sonic Rush Adventure)

Wild Card: Techno Base (Act 2) - (Sonic Advance 2)

As for my favorite Sonic song, you all will be surprised about this but I do enjoy Sonic chronicles’ Battle 3 theme as much as the songs I listed today in the list I made as I enjoyed the games and the usage of the instruments used in each song, as you can see I’m a huge fan of shade the echidna and I enjoyed the third battle theme in sonic chronicles as it reminds me a lot of rave music and it’s super enjoyable to me.
