  • Sonic Origins Plus DLC Officially Out

Though Steam users still can’t play it.

The Sonic Origins Plus DLC has officially rolled out on all platforms as of midnight EST. Playstation, Xbox, and Switch players can all play it, and Steam users can…well, buy it, at least, for a slight mark-up.

Unfortunately, as of this writing, the Sonic Origins 2.0 patch with all the fixes and DLC content has yet to become available on Steam, meaning Steam players are locked out of the DLC even if they buy it. This will hopefully resolve soon, but anyone on Steam hoping to play the game at midnight will need to hold off.

Steam users are also currently being charged a dollar more for for the DLC, for some reason. We have reached out to SEGA for comment.

Charging us extra for Origins Plus? Not offering Steam as an available platform for Amy's skin code in Sonic Superstars?

    I'm calling sus.

More than a bit annoyed to see the other DLC packs bundled in with the plus content if I'm honest. It means I'm buying what I paid for twice now instead of the store discounting part of the DLC bundle for already owning it. Who decided this was a decent method of release?

The entire Plus version of the game with everything is now a solid £34.99. Which is actually a decent price. But it's two quid cheaper than what I paid for (with the Premium packs) last year. And I still have to pay £8.99 if I want Amy (and the GG games) to complete the package.

I'm very tempted to just wait for a sale now. Incredible how SEGA put me off quite quickly with this confusing model.

It's $10 on Steam now but the price I originally paid still stands.

    Guess I'm submitting a ticket...
