  • Sonic Forces Mobile: Stats and Skills for Surge the Tenrec and Chrono Silver Revealed

You'll be able to snatch Surge from the 21st November.

It's official - Surge the Tenrec will be making her debut in Sonic Forces Speed Battle during a special event that runs from the 21st - 28th November. Statistics and Skills for both Surge and the follow-up special character, Chrono Silver, have been published by SEGA HARDlight.

As you can see, Surge is pretty hi-spec in the Speed department but her lack of Strength is a downside that players need to take into account. She seems to love the 'Power Surge' ability though, which drains power as it connects with rival players on the track.

Chrono Silver is the official name of the character formerly known as 'Tech Knight Silver', and will be available to collect in a special event that follows Surge's, running 28th November - 5th December. Thanks to his trusty sword, Chrono Silver is super strong and can use his techno-PK energy to cause clones of himself to appear on the track to confuse opponents.

I stopped playing this game a while back, but man they outdid themselves with Chrono Silver's design. Looks awesome!

Looks like HARDlight is trying to encourage more aggressive playstyles. First Warlock Infinite gets two Phantom Daggers, now Surge gets two Power Surges. The lack of a trap ability seems like a big disadvantage imo, but it's still good that they're trying to mix things up a bit.

R.I.P. Kit, gone and apparently forgotten lol

    Surge model looks sick, though!

Surge has no long range attacking potential, which makes her incredibly vulnerable to falling too far behind and not being able to recover. She also has no method of attacking enemies to her rear, which makes front-running a problem too. Odd. People are going to have to put in some work to get her to function. She has good stats, and all her attacks seem to come with a boost, but the lack of range is a killer on harder maps or against spammy opponents.

She'll probably end up like Zazz where you want to run in a pack and just keep inflicting pain to keep anyone from getting out of range.

Silvers stats actually fall short of some of the other 10 power heavy hitters, but he looks cool so he'll be fun to use.
