  • Summer 2003: "The Great GameFAQs Character Battle II"

    There's currently a big showdown taking place on GameFAQs, the game guides website. Called the 'Great GameFAQs Character Battle II', it's a large-scale fan poll that pits all kinds of video game characters together in a big popularity contest. And, you've guessed it, a number of Sonic characters are in the running and need your help to win!

    So far Sonic, Shadow and Knuckles have progressed through to the second round, while unfortunately Tails did not get enough votes to beat Final Fantasy character Auron and was knocked out. The standings so far relating to Sonic characters are as follows:

    • Sonic the Hedgehog (#2 seed) BEATS > Ken Masters (#15 seed)
    • Wario (#8 seed) < LOST TO Shadow the Hedgehog (#9 seed)

    Soon, Knuckles (#8 seed) will face Yuna (#9 seed) of Final Fantasy fame. The polls are open to all, and Sonic fans are encouraged to get out there and support Knuckles, Sonic and Shadow to get to the very top of the ranking!
