What stages do you want to see in Sonic Generations?

If they were going to do a stage from Unleashed or Colours then the highest on my wanted list would be Planet Wisp. Imagine how gorgeous that would look in HD Classic mode.

Well, not much need for imagination:

If somehow a Colours stage gets into the game, then Planet Wisp would be a very interesting choice. I'd be keen to get a chance to run though the fields and interacts more with such an interesting environment. Colours let me down big time on that front, but it's already obvious that Generations isn't going to.

In addition to my other post I'd also love to see Lost World.

These would find me very happy:

S1: Green Hill Zone [Confirmed]

S2: Chemical Plant / Casino Night / Mystic Cave / Hidden Palace [Dream on...] / Metropolis

SCD: Collision Chaos [EU] / Stardust Speedway [uS] / Metallic Madness [EU]

S3: Hydro City / Ice Cap

S&K: Mushroom Hill / Flying Battery / Sandopolis / Lava Reef / Sky Sanctuary / Death Egg

S3D [GEN]: Rusty Ruins / Diamond Dust / Volcano Valley / Gene Gadget / Panic Puppet

SA: Emerald Coast / Red Mountain / Sky Deck

SA2: City Escape / Pumpkin Hill / Metal Harbor

SH: Hang Castle / Egg Fleet

I can't ask for anything more recent because I either haven't played it or I hated it. Also I don't think handheld titles should be used; a version of Sonic Generations should be brought to 3DS/NGP using exclusively handheld Sonic stages. That would rock le socks.

What about Starlight Carnival (or Aquarium Park)? That would look AMAZING in 1080p.

One stage I would absolutely love to see again just because of the potential it has would be Sky Sanctuary Zone. An ancient ruin floating in the sky as the Death Egg rises in the background. It would look fucking fantastic in HD Classic mode. Not to mention all the cool effects from the cloud hopping and warping tomfoolery.

Another stage that seems it would be greatly appealing would be the Cyber Track from Sonic Advance 3. I know this game probably won't cover the advance series, but the idea of this stage is awesome, it's just a shame that people don't remember this stage, probably because of how little people seem to acknowledge Sonic Advance 3 (I hear little about it anyway). As for the Dreamcast Sonic Adventure stages, I'd just go with the obvious of Speed Highway, or maybe Twinkle Park as I enjoyed the amusement park theme and it also had a kickin' rad tune to boot.

Aaaaand I haven't exactly played Sonic Colours or Unleashed, so I can't exactly put in my two cents there.

Despite my hype for this game, I haven't actually posted much. Might as well give my two cents about the level choices.

-Green Hill Zone (STH) - This would have been a no-brainer even if weren't confirmed already.

-Scrap Brain Zone (STH) - Another classic level that has seen some recognition from SEGA lately. (See Brawl and Superstars Tennis)

-Chemical Plant Zone (STH2) - Probably one of the most memorable stages in the entire series. Music is pretty kicking too.

-Mystic Cave Zone (STH2) - There haven't been many cave areas in Sonic games, so its inclusion would definitely add some variety.

-Stardust Speedway (SCD) - Very speedy zone that could easily be modernized. They need to include a Metal Sonic fight too.

-Hydrocity Zone (STH3) - Definitely one of the best designed levels in the series with a perfect balance of high-speed action and precise platforming. I can see a lot of running on water in Modern mode a la Jungle Joyride and Dragon Road.

-Ice Cap Zone (STH3/SA) - One of the few areas to be featured in two different Sonic games. (remakes and easter eggs aside) Classic Sonic's level could be like STH3's version while Modern Sonic roams through Adventure's take on the area. Snowboard included in both variations of course. :P

-Flying Battery Zone (SK) - Purely epic airship level with even more jamming music. Had some awesome platforming sections too.

-Sky Sanctuary Zone (SK) - Very memorable stage that would be outright gorgeous in high definition. (assuming every stage is as well-done as GHZ) Just imagine Angel Island falling and the Death Egg rising out of the clouds.

-Death Egg Zone (Various) - The Death Egg has to appear in this game in some shape or form. It's the thing that made classic Robotnik famous after all!

-Panic Puppet Zone (S3DB) - Might be too similar to SBZ, but I'd like to see it appear anyway. 3D Blast should be recognized in some form after all. Spring Stadium would be my second choice.

-Marina Madness (KC) - If SEGA wants to get obscure and dig out this old gem, they should choose this level.

-Sunset Park Zone (STT) - One of the coolest levels in the series. The train in Act 3 is an incredible boss fight with music to match. Highly doubt this one though.

-Twinkle Park (SA) - Twinkle Park still stands out as a well-constructed and fun level. Plus there are bumper cars!

-Speed Highway (SA) - One of the best 3D Sonic levels ever put together. Multiple paths galore and an epic dash down a huge skyscraper. What more could you ask for in a city level?

-Lost World (SA) - My favorite "temple" level from the series. Also featured some of the only 3D underwater segments that the series has ever known. The boulder chase with the quick step would be awesome too.

-City Escape (SA2) - A classic level. Anybody who has the game should know the layout and music back and forth. Can't wait to hear the new version of the track.

-White Jungle/Green Forest (SA2) - Prison Island is a major location in SA2 and Shadow, so seeing either of these levels would be neat. I'd prefer the former due to it's rainforest-like atmosphere.

-Final Rush/any of the ARK levels (SA2/ShTH) - The ARK is important in both Sonic Adventure 2 and Shadow the Hedgehog, I would be surprised if a level based off the area didn't pop up.

-Casino Park (SH) - My favorite incarnation of the "casino" trope. SEGA All-Stars Racing proved how beautiful this area can be in HD and I'd love if that was put into a traditional Sonic game.

-Hang Castle (SH) - One of the few levels in the series to feature a "haunted house" trope, HC sure fit the bill. I can see the inverted sections being well implemented into the classic gameplay.

-Huge Crisis (SR) - Sonic Rush should get some sort of mention in this game. After all, it established the basis for the gameplay in Unleashed, which SEGA is still implementing to this day. This is my favorite level from the game and it's also the most unique.

-Digital Circuit (ShTH) - Both SEGA and fans probably want to forget about this game. However, it's still a part of Sonic's history and this level has an amazing concept. It's like TRON meets Sonic! (a.k.a. my kind of nerdgasm)

-Flame Core (S06) - Technically, this game's story was retconned out of existence, but hey, who needs things to make sense? Plus, in my opinion, this is the coolest design for a lava level. (or hottest as the case may be *shot*)

-Night Palace (SatSR) - Not sure if either of the Storybook games will be featured in Generations, but I would just LOVE to see this level. Levitated Ruin would be alright too.

-Dragon Road (SU) - Definitely one of the best levels in Unleashed. Had some good 3D platforming sections too. Another unique trope doesn't hurt either.

-Planet Wisp (SC) - Sure, Colors just came out, but it didn't make it to the 360 and PS3. Plus, I don't think its potential was fully realized in that game. I'd like to see Sonic exploring the natural parts of the planet this time around.

Wow, that was a much bigger list than I expected. In fact, I highly doubt that most of those stages will see any recognition. I can keep on dreaming though, right?

Cyber City, you mean-- /brick'd

I think Genocide was picked by the Japanese team without understanding the actual meaning, so they changed it.

SONIC 1- Green Hill, Labyrinth(It would look awesome in 3D), Scrap Brain

SONIC 2- Chemical Plant, Casino Night, Wing Fortress(near enough an Egg Fleet clone, but i love Egg Fleet so...yeah)

CD- Collision Chaos, Quarts Quadarant, Stardust Speedway(perfect for modern Sonic right?)

SONIC 3- Angel Island, Hydrocity, Ice Cap(the only winter themed level i want and it would look beautiful after we got cool edge from Unleashed

S&K- Lava Reef, Sky Sanctuary, Death Egg(a Death Egg that actually looks like a Death Egg,not the one in ASR)

SA1- Emerald Coast(a shoe in, but not Wave Ocean), Twinkle Park, Lost World

SA2- City Escape(another shoe in), Pyramid Cave(a dark horse?), Final Rush

Heroes- Rail Canyon, Grand Metropolis, Hang Castle(could make for some excellent platforming for classic Sonic)

Shadow(NO SERIOUSLY)-Digital Circuit, Glyphic Canyon, Prison Island

06(DISCLAIMER-SOME OF SONIC 06'S LEVELS WOULD WORK BRILLIANTLY ON AN ENGINE THAT DOESN'T SUCK!)-Crisis City, Kingdom Valley, Radical Train

SONIC 4- OH WAIT THAT WOULD BE THE MOST POINTLESS THING EVAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

and that's about it, there's no real point to remaking levels from Unleashed and Colours, it would be best to just use levels from the main series(e.g.no game gear, advance, rush, storybook series levels)

How the hell is Pumpkin Hill going to work?

What's wrong with it? Just because it was originally Knuckles' level doesn't mean it has to play anything like that in Generations, and it looks pretty cool. The music might be a bit awkward, I guess, but there are ways around that.

Has anybody actually explored Pumpkin Hill? There are no paths. There are no loops. There isn't anything there, but Pumpkin peaks and a few mountains in between. If they did it, it wouldn't resemble anything like Pumpkin Hill since it was made for a character like knuckles who can glide, climb and dig. It would be Sky Rail.

^ Yeah, this is the truth. Technically, though, they can take "Pumpkin Hill" and recreate it so that it actually HAS paths, perhaps even taking some elements from Sky Rail. They're both in the same basic area... That's all GHZ really does, anyway--takes the music and level theme, and a couple of layout elements, but otherwise, the stage layout is completely and totally different. Essentially, you're taking a new route through the same area.

There really isn't much of a "need" for a non-returning level because of this... they're not returning in the least bit; they're just using the same theme and actual location as a location in a different game. A very good example is Radical Highway in Winter Olympics. Its based on the same level, but the layout is almost entirely different... it still keeps the backgrounds (enhanced in design), the music, and some layout aspects.

Regardless, Pumpkin Hill is still a weird choice. And even then, ignoring the layout (since the layout in this case is irrelevant), its just Sky Rail at night with creepy music.

Pumpkin Hill = Sky Rail at night. It's perfectly doable.

With pumpkin-shaped hills and graves, it could basically function as a reference to both levels. Nothing wrong with that. Better, even.

Not that I'm clamoring to see it back, but the main reason I might want to see Pumpkin Hill in Generations is so that ghost train could actually be used for something. I've always wanted a 3D Sonic stage with a train in it. Uh, one that isn't Radical Train, anyway.

^ To be honest, that is actually something that I'd really like to see... Radical Train is such an intriguing idea in theory. Of course, Sonic '06 failed, we know this... but if they do consider remaking a level from '06, I think that Radical Train is probably the best one they could go for, simply because train levels are so hard to come by.

Although, I can name a couple of train-based levels. Rail Canyon and Bullet Station have trains in them, as well. Pumpkin Hill has a train, but it isn't quite so significant. Still, I think it would be interesting to see a remake of Radical Train. If they do any stages from '06, of course...

I honestly can't see Pumpkin Hill appearing, anyway. I don't really want either that or Sky Rail because there are so many better stages in SA2.

Agreed really. City Escape identifies SA2 like GHZ identifies Sonic 1 so it has a much higher chance of ever appearing. And then there's Metal Harbour and all the Ark levels.

I'd freakin' love it if Stardust Speedway ends up in Sonic Generations. Metal Sonic boss battle anyone? ;)

Y'know what I'd like to see? C. Sonic versus Metal Sonic racing boss and M. Sonic versus Shadow racing boss. That'd be epic. :D

Stardust Speedway and Final Rush (or Space Gadget) FTW.

Do handhelds count I would like to see some rush stages in HD and rush adventure had the whole pirate theme going on. It would be cool to see modern sonic running through huge pirate ships.
