What does the 'game over' screen look like?

I have completed the game, collected all 7 Chaos Emeralds and I have 129 lives.

And it has just struck me that I haven't even seen what the classic 'game over' screen looks like. And unless I somehow die another 129 times (which because of my high level of skill at Sonic games, seems unlikely) I will never experience what it's like to be asked whether to continue or exit.

Could anyone help me out to stop me wondering?

The game over text appears in blue (same font as the title cards) in front of the stage. The music is a Sonic 4-ified version of the Sonic 3 game over music. Also worth noting is that this game doesn't have continues (cause the'd be pointless).

I'd be surprised if anyone actually see's it, because the game is very giving with lives...

Probably nothing special anyway ;)

*Ahem* I'VE seen it. I had 38 lives and lost all of them to the Giant Mech. It's evil

I'm almost at 300 lives so I will never get to hear the game over music or screen in the game *sigh* Oh well at least I can hear it from my iPod XDD but it ain't the same though =/.

Yeah, I highly doubt I'll see the Game Over screen unless I go looking for it.

Casino Street Act 2 might as well be subtitled "How Many Lives Do You Want?", it seems to give you loads for no apparent reason.

Really? I thought there were, D;. Or at least that's what I thought they were when I complete a stage and sometimes get Sonic's small wagging finger sprite thingy.

Aside from the 99 lives achievement, why do you need so many lives for?

Do you reckon they carry into the second Episode, and so on and so on, with the ultimate pay-off being a ridiculously hard boss that actually warrents the million plus lives you've accrued up to that point?

I personally think that there should be a difficulty setting of Sonic 4 which completely erases all 1UP item boxes. That would surely counteract this, no?

The Sonic 4 game over screen does exist... it appears once in a blue moon when you're trying to get your untouchable trophy... or attempting the final boss for the first time and are convinced that 20 lives will be enough...

For I have seen the Sonic 4 game over screen, and once you see the screen... ho ho... you'll never see another game over screen like it... itchy... tastely... tails doll... itchy...

GAME OVER

You fail at life...

You won't ever see this however because Sega feels like being nice. :P

I think they gave you so many lives, because of much of a dick the final boss is.

I mean you get life for completing almost every stage, not just in Casino Street Act 2.

If you legitimately get a game over, then I'm sorry to say but you suck.

Honestly? I didn't find the final boss that tough, it's certainly easier than the Sonic 2 original. I think i spent maybe around 10 lives on the whole of E.G.G. Station.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7n86JzD7lus's the Game Over screen, Wii Version, no widescreen.

Wow the Wii version of the Game Over music is even more creepier than the 360/PS3/IOS Game Over track.

Oh I got to see the Game Over screen on the 360 after making a new file on my 256 MB (i think that the right memory size XD) build in memory thing, my life is complete now after seeing it XD.
