What music are you currently listening to?

So Streetlight Manifesto has had quite the long history of bullshit from Victory Records and earlier this year the label was refusing to distribute their latest album and it was a whole big ridiculous mess

 

Well I thought they still hadn't released it but color me surprised to happen upon the fact that actually it's been out since, uh, april

 

 

Better late than never, because it is far and away their best work and I'd even go on to say it's one of the best albums I've ever heard. I remember them claiming to be taking from new influences when Somewhere In the Between was released but I think they kind of fell flat there. This time, though, the new inspiration is so readily apparent and it sounds so fresh and different in a lot of ways but distinctly Streetlight. With all that confusion earlier in the year about whether or not they were breaking up, I almost wish they were just because I can't imagine how they'll top this, and it'd be a damn fine swan song.

this song is great. The mix Adventure Club did with it at the end of SuperHeroes Anonymous vol. 3 with Daft Punk's One More time was epic.
