Sonic Rumble Coming To Mobile This Winter, Closed Beta Running May 24 to 26th

It might just be me being crazy or whatever, but the Sonic Rumble logo kinda reminds me of the Sonic Shuffle logo. 

Does anybody else see that? No?

I’m really glad they changed the title from “Toys Party” as per the leaks - but I don't know if renaming it “Rumble” is a bad omen or not after what happened to Crash…

Also, as unlikely as it may be, I hope this is successful enough to go Console bound as SEGA have sure been making some annoyingly bizarre choices recently in creating decent Sonic game experiences for mobile only platforms.

Whilst I understand that this might be some strategy to reach new / different audiences via mobile since the scope is far further reaching, they’ve been very dartboard-esque about this lately.

Sonic Mania Plus being thrown at Netflix subscribers is somewhat inspired (if insulting to the game itself), and a new title like Dream Team was oddly cast into Apple’s limited subscription ecosystem when it deserved more of a chance elsewhere.

Rumble at least appears to have no such limitations (by subscription), but I can’t think of any justifying reason that console version shouldn’t exist on a FTP level as well.

I'm less worried about the framerate. Normally I'd be concerned - but if this sucker is already committed to multiple closed beta with community participation then we know complaint 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 is going to be about the frame rate if its not up to snuff.

They will not be able to sweep it under the rug.

Cute. Also they are going to have more skins like these:

Hopefully they'll add Riders, Black Knight, Boom, Movie, more of the Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog, and Classic skins too

If this game is a grind. Im out. So lets see. 

These mobile games seem aimed at the u20s market with people with more free time. Being 40+, working full time, with a family...these kinds of games are just a big no no to me.

I assume they plan to release figures for it? and each one you collect unlocks that character in the game? 

If they do, as a Sonic collector i wouldn't mind collecting them. as long as the price is decent.
