A while back The Sonic Stadium was the first to announce Sonic's appearance in Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg (oh, you know it), and there were some naysayers.

Then, a day or so ago, we found Sonic Team's updated Japanese website with more official details and screenshots of Sonic popping up as a hatchable animal.

Now, most recently, IGN managed to contact SEGA about whether it was all real or just a fake stunt (slow mo's... :toung_2003:), SEGA came back with a press statement confirming the incident, and some concrete details about the hedgehog's whereabouts...

Regarding Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg: Sonic the Hedgehog can be unlocked and used, considering the user has collected enough coins, in Dino Mountain 3 stage. Sonic is the most powerful egg animal to appear in Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg. Once activated, he is capable of quickly defeating all nearby enemies. He also bounces off walls to change directions and attack new groups of enemies. Once found, users can activate him by pressing the Y button.

No doubt TSS will be tracking the progress of this game! :amuse_2003:
