Spotted by Badnik Mechanic on Twitter from what appears to be a merchandising catalog image from UK brand Top Trumps, we have a look at new tabletop games featuring the blue blur himself, Sonic the Hedgehog!

The most prolific game on this list is a revamped version of Monopoly!

The Sonic brand is no stranger to Monopoly, having three iterations.

The original, aka the "Collector's Edition", which features elements from throughout the mainline games using traditional Monopoly rules.

Gamer variant, which adds boss battles, powerups and multiple Sonic themed currencies to the traditional Monopoly formula.

There is even a version of traditional Monopoly using elements from Sonic Boom!

This 2024 version shown in the catalog appears to be yet another themed version of original Monopoly, the question just lies if it is a reissue of the Collector's Edition in new packaging? Or is this an all new board featuring new characters, cards and spaces based on more recent or even obscure Sonic titles? Only time will tell...

But after we pass GO! and collect 200 dollars, there are three more games with Sonic's face slapped on it!

The second being Match: The Crazy Cube Game.

Sort of like an advanced version of Tic-Tac-Toe, the aim of Match is to line up 5 cubes of the same image horizontally, vertically and diagonally by moving cubes around and pushing them off their occupying spaces... Now with extra hedgehogs!

Third is Whot!

Similar to Crazy Eights, or Uno, Whot! involves players stacking corresponding cards onto one another until one card remains, but with a post-game scoring system based on the number displayed on the cards.

Lastly on the catalog, is the company's namesake, the British cult card game itself Top Trumps!

This is even more of a mystery than the Monopoly reveal. Top Trumps already had a Sonic version as late as 2022, which is rather recent. The one currently featured on the catalog even continues to use the same box art of Sonic, Tails and Knuckles inside a ring. The cards look identical too. Is this a new release? or is it just a reminder to the consumer that a Sonic version of Top Trumps is now available?

Regardless of the case, it looks like there will be no shortage of Sonic content for your next family game night! That is, if you're tired of dragging your grandma to your dusty old Wii to play Secret Rings minigames...

I did not know that Sonic has not one but three versions of Monopoly! That's crazy.
