Sonic Symphony World Tour Makes Headline News On CNN’s Entertainment Pages

With the Sonic Symphony World Tour in full swing as it continues its whistle-stop tour rolling around (at the speed of sound… sorry) various locations across the USA (with performances in Tokyo, Japan and Toronto & Montreal, Canada also coming soon), and with such a positive reception coming from the Sonic fandom and video game music fans like, it was only going to be a matter of time before the tour would start to make headlines of its own. And now, as it turns out, the tour itself has done just that, as it has managed to be featured in a segment recorded for the entertainment pages of the leading international news channel CNN.

The report on the tour’s performances across America composed by CNN and their reporter Rick Damigella contains snippets from some of the songs performed at the various concerts, with plenty of Sonic fans in the venues joining in with the band, (in fine voice, too, we must point out!) and also contains interviews with the tour’s producers Shota Nakama and Massimo Gallotta from MGP Live, as well as additional contributions from Sonic composers Jun Senoue and Tomoya Ohtani.

This is something that we did not expect to see, but the fact that the Sonic community is being represented through a report by a leading news organisation is definitely a win for the fans, not only through giving both the tour and the community more exposure, but also opening up the experience of the Sonic Symphony World Tour to a much wider audience, especially those who may not play video games as often or may not appreciate music from video games as much as that featured in other forms of media.

Well that will be good for casuals to learn about it. I'm not sure how many people view these legacy media news channels anymore but it definitely helps somewhat with exposure.
