Finally, it's time for the Ultimate! Sonic Channel has released its latest monthly desktop and mobile wallpaper artwork, and for September 2023 the focus is on none other than Sonic's 10th Anniversary doppelgänger, Shadow the Hedgehog.

In keeping with the theme for the year's "Sonic Wallpaper" series, Shadow is seen here striking a cool action pose while giving off the most intense frown we've ever seen him pull. According to Sonic Team designer Tomoko Hayane, the objective here was to really project a sense of 'seriousness' with the character - which is quite easy, given the subject they had to work with this month!

You can download the full artwork, as well as an archive of this past year's Wallpaper artwork, by hitting the Sonic Channel website here. Otherwise, take a look at the Serious Shadow action below.

I'm happy to see the serious appearance of various characters in this year's wallpaper illustrations! Just when I was thinking that, I finally got an illustration of Shadow that could be called the true value of Serious!

Are you fighting some kind of formidable enemy...? No matter who the opponent is, never be timid, never get hot...! The combination of this cool expression and dynamic pose is already too cool!

As expected, the ultimate lifeform created by Dr. Eggman's grandfather. Perfect in every way!

I imagined that there would be times when they fought like this even in the game, and now I want to play it♪

Now, I would like to introduce you to the game in which shadows appear, the downloadable content "Shadow Story" for "Sonic Forces"!

It's a serious story that depicts the day before the main story, and you can fully enjoy the cool Shadow's activities like this illustration! By all means, please try to experience it in your own play!

See you next month with another wallpaper illustration!

Great, as a Shadow fan, I love the attacking pose (actually, except for Tails, all the designs for this year have been about attacking poses)!
Considering we have three months left and Blaze is still missing, we have two unknown characters left.
Who will we see, then? Considering the past few years, the main candidates certainly are Big, Metal Sonic, one Chaotix member, and Eggman.
Anyway, it would be great to see other characters: we still didn't get anything about Mighty and Ray from the release of Mania, nor we got Sage or Infinite from Frontiers and Forces... so, should we expect to see either Fang or Trip, now Superstars is going to be released? I don't think so, honestly

Really love the artwork, but it suffers the same issue as the Rouge one from a few months ago with the awkwardly obscured and disjointed text lurking behind.

Obviously I know what it says... but my annoying brain only fills in the blanks so far, so I just see 'SHAW IIPEHOG'. XD

Either; the funky text needs to be placed to the side (or elimiated), or make it so the character doesn't cover half the letters, or create a type font that is consistent and therefore easier to follow when obscured.
