I wouldn't be surprised if the writers had the (scrapped) idea of an emotional cutscene where Tails blames himself for not doing anything useful (with or without Sonic). Tails admits to Sonic that he has become useless by depending on Sonic so much, to the point where the 8-year-old can't do ANYTHING without him.

After owing Sonic a tearful apology, Tails vows to do everything in his power to help fight Eggman's forces and take back what was taken away from the people.

That's just me saying what that cutscene might have been.

Yeah I know, and the whole thing seemed odd for a villain to do. It was just a way for them to merge common level themes

That´s it. Plus we were shown in the series that every Eggman-built thing feels somehow hot, often creepy and like crazy.

Everything except Green Hill (slightly) and the last level doesn´t look like it. Kind of reminds me Sonic 1 structure of levels more than "Oh, Eggman´s ruling the world."

Nah that displeases Sonic Team. Tails is smart, therefore law of character stereotype/archetype says he must be weak to compensate. Flip it in reverse for Knuckles (Well he ain't dumb in this game, but has been treated as such for a while).

There's a reason I say Tails has pretty much become Jimmy Neutron. No really it's surprising how he is now more like him.

I'm not saying that Tails should have Knuckles' strength or all of Sonic's bravery. That wasn't my intention. Remember what he said in Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2? Remember his theme song saying that he wants to be brave, strong, independent and reliable? That's what I was going for.

I was just making a joke from what you wrote ala my belief they do not give two shits about Tails. They try to make him unlikable and useless. He deserves so much better than the crap material they've shit into a bag and handed him....after setting said bag of shit on fire......and a note attached that says nerd on it.

I dunno, I felt pretty bad for him. It just bothers me how they're still acting like he can't be a fighter, it would've been nice to see that again and could have made his "arc" (if you can call it that) in this game more meaningful. He goes off on his own instead of joining the Resistance but is still trying to make a difference, that sort of thing.

Never happened clearly according to them. I mean Sonic X literally skipped over his biggest SA1 moment...so maybe they are giving those games the same treatment.....except for Big the Cat.....cause memes.

Most of Unleashed's levels actually take longer than a minute to beat.

Unleashed's level design has a greater focus on flow and speed instead of platforming.

Unleashed's levels feature both cinematic and visual set pieces that don't force the player to sit through qte-filled cutscenes (although the daytime levels do have small qte moments here and there, they never last longer than a few seconds).

There are more varied situational moments in Unleashed's level design to accommodate Sonic's larger moveset.

Unleashed's level are predominantly more 3D than 2D,  with Forces' levels being the opposite.

Rails in Unleashed's day stages typically have obstacles on them, and aren't largely used as cutscenes to move Sonic from one section of a level to another, unlike in Forces.

Unleashed's levels typically have you traveling from one area to another (e.g. Shamar: town > outskirts/ruins > canyon, Adabat: village > jungle > islands > ruins, Mazuri: village > citadel > giant tree). Forces features this in some levels as well, but not to the same extent, nor as frequently.

Sure there is...........because they're not Sonic.....the criteria is Sonic. I hear Sonic Team may drop the team part of their name for just Sonic.....created by the Sonic for the Sonic.

You know, it just occurred to me.

In the Avatar's Green Hill stage, they're being chased by a land-roving robot. And the dialogue says "We can't let this thing get to the Chemical Plant!"

But, uh...

Green Hill is on South Island. Chemical Plant is on Westside Island. Was this robot walker going to run across the ocean?

Or Eggman had some sort of ship to carry it between islands. But running across the ocean seems good for trampling underwater settlements.

People really seem to dislike Tails' new and positive character transition...it's increasingly harder to understand why with every passing comment about it.

Really makes a person wish Cream Cheese was in the game.

I heard that the Chemical Plant isn´t the original one, instead built on the sea.
