It looks like you can battle in star ship mario.

You can see a path that players will walk in.

I think this may be a stage were you battle in different areas.

So have hope for the cosmic observatory being able to battle on.

I'm not against the idea for a Paper Mario or Pac-Man stage. Personally, I'd also would love to see Pac-Man as a playable character, as he does have a pretty big chance that he might be included in the roster. Also, in terms of a Pac-Man stage, what would be a better choice: The traditional maze, or something from Pac-Man World or any other Pac-Man game? I've never played any Pac-Man game other form the arcade games, so I'll have to try the World series out at some point.

It'd probably end up being representative of The Ghostly Adventures.
Lets not start up on Pac-Man again. There was a huge argument about him a few pages back.

I'm curious to see if we're gonna get another Animal Crossing rep. Such a big moneymaker with a HUGE cast, makes sense it'd have at least ONE more character.

I'd personally like to see Mr. Resetti, not just because I like him, but because, really, such an angry character in such a happy series, he'd be the only one who'd make sense. He's even got a weapon in his pickax and his digging, so it's not like he's really strapped for any potential fighting moves.
Tom Nook, I don't know how he would work, given the moveset everyone envisioned him having ended up being exactly what Villager got.

As much as I adore Isabelle, I wouldn't want to see here in the roster, since how could anyone want to beat up Isabelle? I wouldn't complain if she did, though. I'd main the FUCK out of her.

What?  It's completely a background element.  The path was there in the original game - in fact Starship Mario looks 100% identical, which is a surefire sign that it's a background element - if it was a piece of stage geometry, it would have probably been modified for optimal gameplay experience (for example, Peach's Castle in Melee is a lot flatter and smaller than it's original counterpart).  It's missing from a later screenshot, which shows the same foreground envioronment.  I wouldn't have any hope at all for battling on the observatory if I were you, nothing here looks like it's a tour style stage.

If it is I will vomit.  Not because the Ghostly Adventures is awful (it is), but because it'll just make it look like Namco is more interested in using Smash Bros as advertising space for their new game, as oppose to celebrating the series history, as Smash has always done.

See: Snake, Sonic and Mega Man's first Smash stages all representing the most iconic location from their first game (well okay, MM's Mega Man 2 but that is justified as hell).

Use an up-to-date Pacman design by all means, but fuck generic-future-city stage is not a landscape that represents Pacman.

It's not like Sonic isn't using his most recent Green Hill clone over something good.

Despite not being a very good game, Windy Hill still looks creative and is pretty to look at, while maintaining that classic Sonic edge, so I'm all for it being in Smash Bros, considering the Nintendo exclusivity of it all.

Though, ultimately, I would have preferred a "Generations-styled" update to Brawl's Green Hill Zone.

I have to wonder, though, perhaps the 3DS version of Smash 4 will have Tropical Resort as Sonic's stage? The DS version of Colors got some pretty good reception, after all.

The background Windy Hill in this game looks like plastic, they could have ripped it right from SLW and it would have looked better. They should have gone with something that is more iconic and appeared in Generations like Speed Highway or City Escape. But with that said the foreground looks nice and it looks like a pretty fun stage so...

I say this with every game that remakes things from other games, but I'd prefer older levels to see the evolution from the original graphics to the newer ones.

Which is one of the things that really disappoint me with Smash 4 so far. A lot of levels look to just take the assets from the original game and change a few things.

^ That is the natural problem that will arise from representing more recent games.  They're really gonna want to take envioronments from the Wii games since Brawl was mostly focused on Gamecube stuff.

I think there's a VERY good chance of Sonic getting a second stage this time though, it really looks like he's here to stay from now on.  If not then we'll at least get something different on 3DS.

I personally don't mind windy hill, while it would be nice to fight on a stage like terminal velocity or angel island its still nice to have something besides green hill (and for the love of god don't you dare say its green hill 2.0 or I will hunt you down).

Don't be silly, Seaside Hill is Green Hill 2.0.

Windy Hill is Green Hill 3.*yanked off stage*

It's at least like Green Hill 15.0

Maybe. Could just be something from the third Nintendo exclusive, though.

3DS could easily use Windy Hill, too because of the Lost World being on both platforms.

I'd prefer Frozen Factory, if only because Smash could use more icy environments. Icicle Mountain and Summit don't cut it on their own.

Wouldn't it be at least 4.0?  Emerald Hill is Green Hill 2.0 surely?

Although, I would've loved to see something like Casino Night as Sonic's stage. The bright neon colours and roulette and pinball gimmicks could be potentially wacky and fun.

What's wrong with them representing the new Sonic games? This isn't Brawl. This isn't a big occasion, it's not Sonic's definitive Smash appearance - we've been there already. They'd be retreading the same water. Brawl was Sonic's debut, it was a massive moment for the franchise, and so they chose Green Hill Zone as the most iconic Sonic stage. But continuing to remake the same stage over and over again is stupid. I'm pretty sure people would be complaining if they remade Brinstar for every game, or refused to acknowledge any Zelda game beyond Ocarina of Time - so why are people so bothered by Windy Hill?

The Green Hill look is way too iconic to not include in Smash. You're honestly crazy if you think that a GHZ-esque stage won't be chosen.

I'm putting my bets on a second Sonic stage that involves a city, like something from the Adventure games. Barring that, there's a high chance we'll be seeing one of Robotnik's bases, like Death Egg.

That doesn't really mean I have to like it, though.

That said, I'd have liked Emerald Coast. I've seen people count that as a Green Hill-like level. Or Mushroom Hill.
