Ok let's try these, because not everyone has played newer or older titles, so lets try something in a happy medium, or even a couple questions, but only one must be answered.

 

For older fans who haven't played anything beyond the genesis and dreamcast eras:

Sorry, but I don't know the answer to a single one of those questions. As someone above said, the goal is just to make sure they're a real person; not to test their knowledge of obscure/very specific facts about the Sonic series. Also, in the event someone doesn't know the answer then they can usually Google it; however I'd be hard pressed to figure out effective search terms for some of those. They should be "general knowledge" questions related to the series. How about questions like this:

Oh heck no I freaking hate CAPTCHA, because when you are not a spam bot you still suffer to read the friggin CAPTCHA, sometimes I seriously just can't read it. I'm glad sites like Segabits and the soon to be sonic stadium use questions, especially easy ones.

Actually it may be reasonable to combine CAPTCHA with questions. Most of spambots will happily try to solve CAPTCHA and fail at questions, while it would also prevent people from mass-registering with simple scripts.

 

I'm not fond of CAPTCHA either, but at least you only need to enter it once.
