Sonic Adventure 2 Discussion, Speculation, Media Topic

Honestly, online play is the only reason I'd even consider buying it. SA2 has the best multiplayer of any Sonic game, hands down. I have this game on Gamecube AND Dreamcast, I'm not going to buy the same damn game without some sort of incentive that you don't get with the other 2 versions.

Yeah, Sega will probably be cheapasses and not give it online support if they ever DO release it, but one can dream.

I think there's a solid chance they might port this decently since it's Iizuka's "Sonic Adventure 2 debut of Shadow" + that Jet Set Radio port is looking good.

Will be great to play this again, even if it does have crappy borders and stuff, I really don't mind, I miss this game a lot.

I can picture us getting something like this, but with slightly smoother graphics.

I'll be already happy if they just make smoother graphics and put it on widescreen like you said. Another thing they can also do is fix the lip sync a little. Online VS will be sweet as hell, SA2 has the best multiplayer ever IMO. As allways, I'll hope for the best.

You know Sonic Adventure 2 came out June 23rd 2001, so maybe they're releasing it then?

Oh, come now, mon, we don't need this nonsense to start up again. You know how it'll end...

I prefer Sonic Unleashed over Sonic Adventure 2, by the way...

I allways find something weird and interesting on this intro trailer. Sonic looks slower than the actual release. With that speed, it seens the game is much more playable and enjoyable. Check how smooth is the game at 0:50 to 0:59. Very different from the actual game where you can barely see without boosting...

And let's not argue about that "best 3D game", ok.

Back to topic: June 23 will be a delicious date to release it.

I think you mean 21st. tongue.png

Well to be fair the series is still 20 years old until the 23rd of june this year so releasing sa2 then would be a hybrid of the 20th ending and the 21st beginning. Time logic is epic!

I see what you mean by that. But it's still technically the 21st at this point.

  • Aliens: Colonial Marines
  • Super Monkey Ball Banana Splitz
  • The Cave
  • Hell Yeah!
  • Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown
  • Jet Set Radio

Very interesting. Maybe it's not going to be announced until the end of the year, or it just isn't at E3? I wouldn't take their E3 list to determine if there will be a port or not.

I disagree. it's not a January reset sort of thing. The 20th anniversary stuff may have started early, but it was all leading to June 23rd of 2011 when the 20th officially began. It's not the 21st until June 23rd, which is when the 20th ends. To back this up, new merch is hitting spots like Spencers with the 20th anniversary packaging. Also, 20th anniversary figures are finally hitting the UK. Also, birthdays. How do they work?

--

As for the E3 press release, of course they're not going to reveal SA2 until E3. I assume day 1 of E3, the SA2 trailer will release and the game will be playable on the show floor.

Oh I wouldn't rule that out just yet. E3 runs from the 4th to the 7th of June so they'll probably announce it during or afterwards during june. The avatar items that got pulled pretty much confirm it since they wouldn't exist if it wasn't coming out.

You REALLY believe SEGA, nay, SEGA's PR Team?

I don't trust them for anything. they flat out deny anything until they announce it. Hell they denied having a 3DS and PC port of Generations coming until they announced it themselves even though there was clear evidence that they did exist and they were coming.

Don't trust them, SEGA allways lies.

Been dying for more chao gardens ever since I completed Battle. Might be the same game, but its more chao for me, nonetheless. If it's true, can't wait!

EDIT: I'm loving how one of those games they've listed on there is simply named "Hell Yeah!". Setting our expectations high, are we?

I'm guessing that's because it's played with level 1 in speed? Or am I'm wrong on that?
