Let's catch up a bit...

This is how I feel after playing Transformed:

Every race is so exciting, the track is fill with action, from racers throwing and crashing with each other, explosions, the feel of speed and danger...OH MY GAWD! I'm having so much fun playing the game in hard mode!! I'm more excited playing it now then when I was playing it in Sonic Boom! I just want to thank SOL and his team because DAMN they really outdone themselves this time!!

SOL i want to ask you something. is it true that you set a challenge on the sega forums. that you can get any character in sonic and all stars racing transformed as DLC. if we can get 1000 people to vote. if so everyone go to the sega forums to vote on the thread called SOL's challenge stage 1 attempt.

I did set that challange as someone started a DLC thread and it was devolving into a list of a million characters. I am not going to promise that the final choices will get made, but if the forums can organise themselves to show demand for 3 characters with 1000 unique votes *per* character in a sensible and grown up way. I will talk to SEGA about the possibility of the choices for any potential DLC.

However, I'm being strictly hands off. This is as much of a test to see if you can all co-operate as it is a challenge. It also will show you how difficult it is to get a roster that everyone can live with...

Question for S0L or Rex,

Do I need to beat every mission on Expert in order to unlock every character?

No, but you do need to do it on Hard to get the 'Ultimate Fan Service' one.

And SoL I am enjoying the game so far its so addicting, and it sucks i got three brothers to share my ps3, I'll be like "nooooo one more race!"

Get some more Dual Shocks plugged in and do 4 player

has anyone managed to get Team Sonic on solo yet?

You could potentially do this in Custom Game if you have enough pads, just create a lobby and don't invite anyone... You still need to beat the AI though, but this is the easiest way as you can set the difficulty.

Yes there is. It's quite annoying doing every mission on hard then unlocking expert mode. Now I have to do every mission again on expert just to get all the stars. Ah well, at least I got the final character. The only one I haven't got yet is Eggman of all things XD

Tip, Eggman can be found by playing the GP's...

I have a question too, S0L. Is there any anti-cheat for the PC version of this game? I'm worried that the online play might be taken over by hax on the PC version, which tends to happen with unprotected multiplayer PC games (it's unfortunate that people do this kind of stuff, really). Or maybe the client-server communication is set up so that hacks don't work? (maybe the client doesn't have control over anything, or something like that)

It's not going to be an issue - but I'll explain when the PC version is announced.

A-HA, THAT's where you get Eggman! I was wondering! I went through World Tour and was like "Where is Eggman?!" after I played an online match and a CPU was using him... XD BRB must unlock him!

EDIT: I hope that this place continues to be a home for future SUMO Digital games, not limited to just SEGA ones...! (Little BIg Planet Vita! SO GOOD D; )

Gosh, I'm starting to think that I'm the only one content with the roster being how it is. o.o Especially that final racer unlock, which is way cooler than I thought it'd be after seeing it in action.

Nah, I'm with you.

Of the 9 non-returning racers, Alex Kidd was the only one I really thought NEEDED to be in. Ryo Hazuki makes the first game worth revisiting, and appears in the Race of Ages track. Virtua Fighter were, for me, crazy one-off racers and again get a prominent cameo in the final track. Zombio & Zobiko were very much crazy one-offs, and they too get great cameos this game. Opa Opa pretty much was the ultimate final unlock, wasn't he? In any case, he too cameos in the final track and is another strong character that makes the first game relevant. The Chu Chus were (yet again) kooky one-offs just as Bonanza Bros. were, I never thought they'd return but I am very happy they cameo in Transformed. Billy Hatcher... I'm so glad he is gone. Sure his game has fun locations, but as a racer he was a waste of a slot for me. Oh yeah, and Big the Cat. I love him, but I prefer him as a cameo.

That leaves me with Alex Kidd, a series staple and a character who was at his peak as big as Sonic. Since he's in, I am very happy.

And the final unlock is just as cool, if not cooler, than Opa Opa. It's two classic SEGA franchises AND representation of a fan favorite SEGA console!
