Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed...!

On top of things as usual I see, Shadzter smile.png Where do these sites and other media outlets get copies of the game to preview? Does SEGA's PR and marketing departments give it to them?

Yeah, they get sent preview copies, or in this past week's case, they go to a press event and play it there. I went to one for the first game at Alton Towers with some of the other TSS staff and other press. I also went to one for Sonic Chronicles and Samba De Amigo at Nintendo's old Wii Flat in London.

Gareth is wearing an Alex Kidd t-shirt.

I'm just gonna take that as a subtle hint of what's to come.

It's his only shirt, dude! Take it easy!

Where does this go? biggrin.png

There's a whole topic for the Meccano sets in the Marketplace. Funnily enough, they're not related to ASRT at all, and even use stages not found in ASR either (Green Hill. Chemical Plant, Casino Street).

On the subject of ASRT merch.

It's a tad odd, theres rumored to be some following that toy fair which Jazwares said 'yup we're making new toot.'

Yet the only thing to come out is based on the original ASR. In fact just a few weeks ago they released some new metal racers which look pretty cool.... but they're flying the ASR flag.

Hey SOL,

I have a question that doesn't involve tracks or characters:

In the 3ds footage (which looked great for 5 seconds worth btw) I noticed a lack of water physics and reaction for the boating section.

Are water physics not gonna make the cut for the 3ds version? Or is it possible to perhaps squeeze a little more out of the system and have them in?

I would rather have a less beautiful game if it means getting the full gameplay experience of the consoles.

Man, I kinda hope we get water physics. It'd be a shame if they had to be cut considering the presumebly smaller 3DS team. Especially considering realistic water physics have been in games as far back as Wave Race 64.

I'll catch up with questions later (and the short version is don't worry about 3DS water physics, you can't judge a whole game from a 5 second clip!) but...

If anyone is in Nottingham tonight and wants a play we're doing a SUMO pub quiz at the Antenna Bar at 6.30pm tonight.

I'm a late addition hence the late notice :)

I am very interested. As will be different schedule 3DS and PS Vita.

I don't think how PSV version will be different from PS3 ver. Just interesting to see the screenshots. :3

OK, and this is my last post for a week or so as I'm going on holiday for a week! Go me :P

1) Could you confirm if PAL UK version of Sonic & All Star Racing Transformed (XBOX 360) has Spanish texts and voices please?

2) Could you confirm if Sonic & ASRT has Alex Kidd, Ryo Hazuki and Opa Opa as a playable characters? (I'm give up to play with Big The cat because he is appearing in a video fishing... sad.png and it's a pity... )

3) Has Sumo intention to release a future DLC with more aditional characters (to increase original staff of 29 characters to 33 for example) and add more tracks?

4) I read achievements of Sonic & ASRT... there are two of them that they make me think about Xbox 360 users need four controllers to get 1000G... Is that true? I would like get 1000G (perfect) as the first game but if i need four controllers i won't because only i have one controller so maybe i will get 980G.

Thank you very much and sorry for my english but these are that i can write, i have a lot of doubts but that above are the only i can write, the others i can't write them using my english, i'm very sorry.

Un saludo

Let's tackle some of these then...

1. The game has all text and the announcer speech translated into Spanish, but as there are so many character voices, these don't get translated and remain in English. It'd be a huge undertaking to find the right voice actors for every character and record all the speech and extremely expensive!

2. Sorry, but we can't talk about which characters remain to be revealed, SEGA do all the reveals, we can only talk about it when they confirm a character!

3. And again, can't say anything at this time on DLC. We've built the game to support it, but that's all I can say at this time.

4. You do need to have 4 players to do some of the Achievements and Trophies, after all we are a Party Game and we've spent a lot of time making sure as much of the game as possible can be played in 4 or 5 players! So yes, you'll need 4 pads and 4 players for some of them.

Both the handheld versions have water physics, but they're reduced as required based on the power of the console. Bear in mind Seaside Hill is the first course in the game and the clip is off the first section of water you'll ever race on, so we don't make it super choppy! Wait and see :P

Hey S0L, did you ever find out how many players the 3DS supports online?

You might have to wait a week to get your answer sir.

All text and the announcer speech. Characters never get localised, like me, they only speak English...

And it's European Spanish, not Latin Spanish.

Japanese version will happen, but will be later dates.

Sera, he is foreign. I bet he is just having a hard time understanding the posts.

Now you say it...I haven't quoted the question SOL answered. That makes it a bit confusing

Anyway...I know this guy from other forums, I'm quite sure he wasn't following the thread tongue.png

I went well enough that we *are* indeed planning one doing a similar thing again. In Sheffield.

I'll keep you posted.
