In fact, it turns out that Activision-Blizzard are explicitly against the bill, which is a pleasant surprise.

O great, looks like I have some emails to resend. I probably should not have put Activision onto the PMs :(

Do You guys think it would be better if I just created a video that LINKS to Totalbiscuits video to raise awareness instead of spamming youtube accounts with PMS? Also my vid would have to cover all of the basic details of the Act itself.

Oh, I'm sure they're listening, but their reaction reminds me more of this song;

This song makes me think of the whole damn situation.

Stop posting links. They will have more of a reason to censor this...

I'm scared. I'm honestly scared that there'll be enough idiots backing this stupid bill and the internet essentially dies. I'll keep my fingers crossed since that's all I can really do.

We better hope it gets turned down like the other times where the entertainment industry tried to do something about VHS's or something.

Eh, if it does get passed, I expect it to be challenged to the Supreme Court immediately.

And then considering how widely know this is becoming, and how heated everyone is over it, some of these Congressmen could kiss re-election good-bye next year.

I really don't want to see this bill passed, I'm sure no one does. But I will say that if it does get passed, I'm getting a front row seat to watch all the mayhem that follows. From court proceedings, to deliberate acts of vengeance, to an overhaul of Congressional representation, next year's going to be a blast.

WASHINGTON -- On Thursday, a bipartisan coalition of lawmakers directed the federal government to deploy radical new powers to enforce and protect copyrights on pornography.

By a vote of 9 to 18, the House Judiciary Committee rejected an amendment offered by Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.), which would have barred the Department of Justice from using the new tactics envisioned by an anti-piracy bill to protect "obscene and pornographic works."

If this bill passes, I should expect that the US government will order all ISPs to modify their DNS tables in order to make porn websites unreachable by name. So, what are the alternatives?

Use a foreign DNS server?

Use an IP address?

Holy crap, if the US lose their ability to present online porn, then there'll be nothing stopping Japan from dominating the internet forever.

My god...it's full of hentai...!

Well, at first I figured that if they removed all my entertainment in the form of mindless YouTube videos and discussion of video games and cartoons elsewhere, I would just waste my life away by watching porn all day.

And now they're contemplating taking that away from us.

Why are you so determined to rape the Internet, America? What am I going to do now to keep myself occupied? Buy myself some DVDs or video games or something to pass the time awa-

Spoony talks about the bill: http://blip.tv/the-spoony-experiment/vlog-12-14-11-trip-to-dc-stop-sopa-5823636

If there is anything, these videos are rather frightening in a ticking clock fashion.

I did just receive this interesting email, is this true, or just only part of the situation?

thanks to dedicated activists like you, over the last week we won two important victories:

—On Thursday, the bill that would have allowed telemarketers to robocall your cell phone was completely defeated. The main sponsor of the bill said, "we're driving a stake through its heart. Dead. Done. Buried."

—And on Friday, the Stop Online Piracy Act, which threatens the very existence of the social internet, failed to pass the House Judiciary Committee. Recognizing the intensity of the opposition to this bill, its sponsors have agreed to delay it for at least a month and explore changes.

So to the more than 50,000 of you who took part in the Daily Kos actions to stop these bills, a big shout out: Good. Friggin'. Job.

I'd like to see some independent confirmations by other news sources before I'll be able to rest easy on this matter. Good news if true though...

Now, what about the NDAA?
