Ever wanted to take your style back to the 90s, but in an extremely 'preppy' way that recalls the day of school hallway monitors? Well, you're in luck because SEGA of America has teamed up with fashion brand Rowing Blazers to release a 'capsule collection' of retro-inspired Sonic clothing.
For those unaware of the Rowing Blazers brand, the company describes itself in a press release as a name known "equally for its subversive twist on 'preppy' staples and its unexpected collaborations". This collection aims to combine "Rowing Blazers' elevated Ivy League aesthetic with 1990s Sonic graphics."
From the press release:
Quote"The collection features an intarsia-knit cotton sweater emblazoned with Sonic’s image, which Rowing Blazers Founder and Creative Director, Jack Carlson says was adapted from an early ’90s knitting pattern book. Other pieces include a zip-up polar fleece, heavyweight rugby jerseys, a French terry loopback hooded sweatshirt, cotton tees and mesh shorts. Accessories include baseball caps, a heavy-duty canvas tote bag, a necktie and a Sonic patch featuring hand-embroidered wire bullion goldwork. The primarily black, yellow, and white pieces allow for Sonic’s signature shade of blue to pop."
The range is definitely made for adult Sonic fans with disposable income - the average shirt on sale will set you back around £110, while hoodies will command a price of £180. The rugby shirts and sweaters are the priciest items at around £200-250. So be prepared to have words with your wallet if you plan on getting some of these delivered.
