  • Krysten Ritter's Playing Captain Rockwell In Sonic Movie 3!

    We're slowly but gradually hearing more about the cast of the third Sonic film. Jim Carrey's return was confirmed a couple of weeks ago simultaneously with a teaser trailer that had a little Live and Learn cameo included and an official logo. That said, it seems that Krysten Ritter will be joining the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 cast to play the role of a human character named Captain Rockwell.

    So, what do we know about Captain Rockwell? Well, nothing else, really. As previously mentioned, the character is going to be a human. But that is all we know. Still, based on the character's name, it's safe to say that they may have some military role. In fact, it's very possible that Captain Rockwell may be a significant character in the ranks of G.U.N., who we know exists thanks to the end of the last film.

    You're also probably wondering what Ritter's resume is. Well, the good news is that she's got over 20 years of experience acting. She's most known for playing the role of Breaking Bad recurring character Jane Margolis. She was the star of the 2011 comedy film Life Happens, of which she also co-produced and wrote for. In fact, she's got a lot of experience acting in comedy films. She appeared in romantic comedies such as 27 Dresses (2007), What Happens in Vegas (2008), Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009), and She's Out of My League (2010), horror comedies such as Vamps (2012), and drama comedies such as Listen Up Philip (2014) and The Hero (2017).

    As for the third Sonic film, this is the first time she will be playing a role in a video game adaptation film. It will also be the first time that she plays a role in a film that is an action-adventure comedy. For some, however, people may be disappointed to hear this. A few rumors had been swirling that Ritter was joining the cast to play the role of Rouge the Bat, not a human character and certainly not what seems to be a G.U.N. operative. Nevertheless, we'll likely know more about how important Captain Rockwell will be to the plot in the near future.

    I liked it better when we thought she was gonna play Rouge.

    Oh well, room for someone else to play Rouge and treat Rockwell as her Topaz?

    I thought the idea of her being Rouge was neat, but this is intriguing to me as well. Sounds like a GUN agent, but wonder what she’ll do.

     Maybe just cause it didn’t fit tone wise, but surprised her role in Jessica Jones was left off her resume here.

    It hasn’t been confirmed, as far as I’m aware. At least not officially. But there has been heavy speculation and hoping for her and Amy to appear given the SA2 ties.

    If only one of them can appear, who would you prefer: Amy or Rouge?

    I doubt a movie can introduce 3 major characters at once. I still pray Rouge will appear in the Knuckles TV show (and join Shadow in whatever spin-off he gets later), while Amy plays her role of turning Shadow good like in the games. But that feels less and less possible. So I suspect Amy will wait for Sonic 4.

    Weird to say that this is kind of Disappointing 🤣 only because I was on the train for her being cast as Rouge (or even Amy). That being said it’s not as though these characters are confirmed to even be in this movie.  

    I just hope her casting isn’t wasted like some were from the first film. She was terrific as Marvel’s Jessica Jones after all.

    Lil nit pick, but you mention all of these Kristen Ritter roles and leave out arguably her biggest role: Jessica Jones? Anyways, Rockwell would make a pretty good last name for Topaz don't ya think?

    And for those disappointed she isn't Rouge, are you even familiar with her work? Have you heard her voice? It's just not the right fit imo.

    However.

    I'm REALLY hoping that Stockard Channing's unconfirmed role in the Knuckles spinoff will be Rouge. If you somehow are wondering why on Earth I'd choose her, do yourself a favor and watch Grease. Rizzo's sass and voice are the perfect match, I honestly don't see her casting making any since if she doesn't end up being Rouge.

    I don't mind Krysten not playing Rouge. As long as she gets a good role, then that's good enough for me.

    Strange that given the parents were fine with a Mario movie so fast it should have an epilepsy warning then. Tho maybe making her Rouge would have totally made adult men wonder why they have strange feelings for the most popular furry in Sonic who isn't Sally Acorn.

    Yeah I dunno, that argument doesn’t hold a lot of weight nowadays when you realize a lot of parents today are millennials and even some gen z who are parents who would’ve grown up with Sonic, both modern and classic. Hollywood once again being out of touch with today’s audiences.

    I know there will be rogue bc we know Amy's in the plot and we don't quite know whose voicing her so there's a good chance rogue will be in the story plus this is adv 2 there's no adv 2 without rogue
