We may not have a trailer for Paramount's upcoming Knuckles series, but we do finally know how long it will be: six episodes. This news comes to us via the LinkedIn page of the show's script supervisor, Holly Johnson. A "script supervisor" is a person who essentially ensures the continuity of all aspects of a production, from the script itself to things like wardrobe and an actor's actions. According to the page, Johnson had this job for four months, from April to July 2023.
Six episodes might not seem like much, but in this era of prestige television it's become pretty common. These shows typically feature massive budgets per episode in order to facilitate movie-quality special effects and heavily feature movie stars. Given that the Knuckles series stars an expensive fully CG character voiced by a big name movie star, it's not surprising that it would utilize this format.
We do not yet know the length of these episodes. TV shows made for streaming can vary wildly in length, even within the same series. We probably won't know the length of the episodes until the show itself is out, which will be some time next year.
With the SAG AFTRA strike over, it's only a matter of time until we get a trailer and release date for Knuckles. With Sonic 3 still set for next December, that will almost certainly happen in the coming weeks or months.
