    English Sonic X Voice Files Discovered - No Ryan Drummond?

    Sonic, Eggman, Tails and Amy - what do you think of them?

    For those of you interested in knowing more about the voice acting cast for the US dub of Sonic X, it seems there's now a way to find out exactly what the characters sound like. Voice files for Sonic, Eggman, Amy and Tails appear to have leaked, and you can listen to them now.

    The voice files were posted, strangely enough, on the website of the Sam & Fuzzy web comic. Click here to listen to them - there are samples for Sonic and Eggman together, Eggman solo, and Amy and Tails together.

    Personally, after listening to them a few times, I wasn't very impressed with any of them. And it seems that Ryan Drummond isn't in fact the voice of Sonic this time, but we haven't heard any confirmation on that front as of yet. We'll let you know if we find out more.

    Call me the deliberachi propagandus if you will :huh_2003:, but those voices were averaging. Sonic's was similar to the SA/SA2 voiceovers which I like. Tails isn't that similar to his SA2 voice, or the SatAM, or AoStH for that matter - but is quite good.

    Eggman's voice sounded nearly nothing like his SA2 voice which is a good one - he sounds like DragonBall Z's Piccolo at times. Amy's voice is near-enough identical to her whiny SA2 voice... which is bad. Very bad. :cry_2003:

    Overall, it's not bad, but not good. :wacko_2003: They could definitely improve on Eggman, for sure.

    Tails' voice sounds like The Sonic Movie, which is not my favorite. :unsure: MAKE A DIFFERENT VOICE FOR TAILS!!! :mad_2003:

    I listened to the voices and this is my verdict:

    Sonic's voice: :smile_2003: 9.5, possibly Ryan Drummond.
    Eggman's voice: :oh_2003: 6.0, definitely NOT Deem Bristow, but acceptable.
    Amy's voice: :smile_2003: 8.0, possibly......(insert name of person who does Amy's voice in the Sonic Adventure series.)
    Tails' voice: :huh_2003: 2.0, This is the WORST voice of them.

    So that's my opinion.

    Well here's my breakdown of the voices:

    Sonic: You remember that stuff called I-cant-believe-its-not-butter? Well, It sounds like they open a can of I-cant-believe-its-not-Ryan Drummond! Seriously, this voice was awesomely done. 4Kids must have known that fans love Ryan's voice for Sonic and made sure they got the next best thing!

    Robotnik: At first when I heard this, it took my brain a few seconds to clue in.."This is Robotnik's voice". Not that I'm saying its bad though...It is well done its not like they could have had Steve Brodie do it. I quickly adapted.

    ---

    Amy: I didn't see a problem with this at all.

    Tails: this was one that took me the most time to adapt... it doesn't sound like the games...nor any other cartoon...but I'm sure it will be fine.

    Sonic: A+
    Robotnik: B+
    Amy: A
    Tails: B

    So there's my breakdown of the voices... I'm not sure most will agree with me. For a long time I was worried to watch Sonic X because of the voice issue... now that I've heard them I am relieved and more eager than ever.

    One thing I forgot to mention.... where's Knuckles voice? :weird: By the way, where did they get these voice samples? The Sonic and Eggman one sounds like a commercial... I hope so, I would hate for that to be snuck in to the real show.

    That's how I grade them in Class 334. Sonic is cool. :cool_2003: Amy is cool. :cool_2003: Eggman is uhhh... :unsure_2003: Cool :idea_2003: (I can't believe I said that).     Are you sure these sources are trustworthy? I thought SEGA was going to keep an eye on everything to make sure that 4Kids didn't ruin it. Those sound files are fake in my opinion.
