  • Samba de Amigo Takes the Party to Apple Arcade

Amigo sambas his way to Apple devices.

SEGA’s new Samba de Amigo game is coming to yet another platform under another name: Samba de Amigo: Party-To-Go, which is set to come to Apple Arcade on August 29. This appears to be the same game that is also coming to the Nintendo Switch as Samba de Amigo: Party Central, as well as to the Meta Quest 2 as simply Samba de Amigo. Much like those iterations, this game will come with 40 songs, with more being made available as DLC. This version will apparently have a slightly different set of songs, however, with three “exclusive” tracks including:

    • “The Edge of Glory” by Lady Gaga

    • “DADDY” by PSY

    • “The Walker” by Fitz and the Tantrums

Much like other versions of the game, Amigo will be customizable and there will be leaderboards. Notably, there is no  mention of the 8-player online party mode confirmed for the other ports.

One interesting detail about this game that I don’t think has been revealed about the other iterations, however, is that this game will have a plot of sorts, and some kind of single player mode. Players will get to “embark on a quest with Amigo to restore music to the world.” It will be possible to “explore Amigo’s town and complete challenges,” as well as “meet new characters.” That certainly makes it sound like this game will have a genuine campaign.

Since this is on Apple Arcade, Party-To-Go will require people to subscribe to the service to play, and it won’t have any pay-to-win or lootbox mechanics.

    Check out screenshots below:

Samba de Amigo: Party-To-Go will be compatible with iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touches utilizing OS13 or higher, as well as Apple TV and Macs.
