  • Amazon Japan Lists Sonic Superstars With October 27 Release Date

    Looks like we might be getting an official release date soon.

    With Sonic Superstars news coming from Gamescom later today, it is widely expected that we’ll finally be getting an official release date. Thanks to an updated Amazon Japan listing, we might already know when that is: October 27.

    That’s a full 10 days after the initial release date that was leaked months ago. Of course, those dates came from US retailers, while this one is from Japan, so it’s possible this isn’t the release date for North American and PAL countries. But global release dates are the norm for games these days, so I wouldn’t bet on that, assuming this listing is accurate.

    I would much prefer this to the October 17th release date, given that that clashed with Sonic Hacking Contest 2023. Whether this ends up being accurate is something we should know soon enough!

    One thing to keep in mind is that this is an import copy from the US. The price is higher than games like FF16 in the region and it uses the US box art. The main thing is that comparing this to Starfields import copy on Amazon Japan. It has a release of September 15, when the game is actually coming out on the 6th. If I had to guess, the 17th date is still the one they have planned, but this import copy won’t ship until the 27th. Hopefully we will know for sure at gamescom
