Hey guys, check this article out:

Also go to page 12...is that a new City Escape screenshot??

The very first fact is wrong; classy.

And yes it is! But I'm wondering how that's not going to end in sadness for multiple parties.

*FOAMS AT THE MOUTH OF SHEER AWESOME*

LOL!! Indeed!

I just realized something...how come the screenshots for Sonic Generations look so good but the demo's graphics are less impressive? Is it an old build or something?

Also:

Sonic the balloon

Sonic was the first video game character to have a balloon in the famous Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York in 1993. Pikachu is the only other, appearing in 2006.

Wow...I didn't know that! Even Mario hasn't got a balloon, but Sonic does :P It's just sad how Sonic is now a laughing stock :(

the demo is an old build of the game made in may 11

Maybe Sonic Team just wanted to have it in, and don't want people to think too deeply about it. If what they say is true, this game's gonna be light story-wise, and they probably won't touch on the technical stuff of 06's story too much.

Thanks to the texture files (and someone at Retro),Giant MotoBug apparently, along with a giant Buzzer confirmed. This makes sense as one of the missions was labelled as, "Giant Batabata" (the fish enemies).

The framerate is the demo is poor, but do you remember how the UNleashed DLC was graphically worse the regular stages? SEGA even pointed this out at one point.

Huh, I didn't know that! Also, the framerate ain't bad at all, but it could be better (I'm playing the 360 version so I don't know about the PS3 version though...) :)

The demo is really choppy, all the time. The framerate never drops (as in, it remains constant) but it's always low. I'm playing the 360 version too.

What I don't get is why they went with just 9. Sonic games really need to become larger than this.

I can agree with this. If each game got 2 levels to represent would be a lot better, as most of those games usually only have 2 fan favs.

Think about it.

Sonic 1: Green Hill, Starlight

Sonic 2: Chemical Plant, Casino Night

Sonic 3: Ice Cap, Sky Sanctuary

Sonic Adventure: Speed Highway, Twinkle Park

Sonic Adventure 2: City Escape, Final Rush

Sonic Heroes: Ocean Palace, Egg Fleet

Sonic 06: Kingdom Valley, Crisis City

Sonic Unleashed: Rooftop Run, Anything else

Sonic Colors: Planet Wisp, Starlight Carnival

-There's a LOT of CG cutscenes, meaning there's probably even more in-game cutscenes, meaning we could be getting an actual STORY!

-There's mini-games again! We haven't seen real mini-games since Sonic Adventure!

-Super Sonic's playable in-game for both hedgies!

-Each level is getting the gimmick from the game it's from back. This is an epic win, even if the gimmick was bad, simply because it fully shows that each level is not only representing itself, but the game it is from

-??? is left blank, meaning that we could be getting Doomsday *squee*

Yes, yes, yes, yes and YES!

...Especially that first one. ^_^'

MODERN CRISIS CITY

Mission 1: Stomping

Mission 2: Sonic ghost

Mission 3: Switch

Mission 4: Co-Op Blaze

Mission 5: Select Canon

Wait, what?

I have the demo on my PS3 and it hasn't dipped in framerate in the slightest nor is it ever choppy.

Wow, I did it. I went through all 27 pages of this topic in one go.

I saw bitching, I saw praise, I saw arguing...it's the Sonic Dark Ages all over again. Except this time, we're hopefully getting a good game in the end.

9's a great number. Think about it; first, there's a Modern and Classic act for each stage, so 18 levels in total. Then, consider that you also might need to complete a certain number of missions before going to the next area. And, if each mission is fleshed out right, it could feel like an extra act from Unleashed or Colors. Plus, based on what I read, there might be 2 acts for each hedgehog per level instead of one, upping the count to 36 levels. Seems solid to me.

But I am wondering what the Co-op, vs., and boss fights will be like... I'm guessing vs. missions will be races with other characters, like the Tails missions from Sonic Adventure, while Co-op will probably be... well, co-op. Though I wonder if a second player can join in like in the classic games...?

As for the bosses, how will those work? The "rivals" are Metal Sonic, Shadow, and Silver, while the main bosses are "Death Egg", Perfect Chaos, and Egg Dragoon. Will each Sonic fight a version of these bosses? Or will each Sonic get 3 bosses, like how the bosses were split up between Sonic and the werehog in Unleashed?

I dunno, but now I think it's a ripe time for some speculation :P

Is there a way to e-mail SEGA this list? Cause this list is epic!

Considering the demo is an old build, there could be the possibility of some of this stuff being different in the newer builds. Just getting that out there.

I've also warmed up to the final list. They seriously could stand to make it a little longer though, acts, missions or no.

We'd have better luck campaigning for a Sonic CD stage.

Who's with me! All Sonic CD fans, stand tall and unite! We shall see to it that Sonic CD is represented in the 20th anniversary game! If not in the main game, then as DLC!

... But then we'd have to decide which stage. Hmm...

Hah, I can see it now.

"Fans are clamoring for a Sonic CD stage in the game? What should we put in?"

"Hm... I know! Put in Palmtree Panic!"

Meh. All I want is the metal Sonic boss. That would be amazing and blood pumping as Modern Sonic.
